Yeah, not too crushed by the defeat. Obviously it sucks, but I don't think either of the Jays have reached their peak yet. Reminds me of that Thunder team that made the Finals, except all our core is locked up long-term.

Just need to find a way to offset Horford's decline.

Oh my god I was literally about to post about tomorrow being stressful in anticipation of Game 6 in the night but forgot it’s Thursday.

The two days off between games helps Timelord and others for rest but it also makes it more agonizing to wait as fans lol, especially coming off a loss

I still feel good about our chances because our team is better and we always had to win this game 6 at home.

There’s a switch that has to flip for the team to know that. They’re forgetting that they’re bigger, stronger and faster. At any given time they have at least 1 player on that is horrible on defense. It’s on Ime to exploit that matchup. They should never be allowed to roll out teams with more than 1 of Curry, Poole, Igoudala, or Bjelica. Once that happens, you stop the nonsense and do that old LeBron James clear out with the pick swap and let Tatum iso the guy. Make or miss, we should go out with Tatum shooting. At least if we lose, we’ll know that it wasn’t our time.

If you’re not getting the calls driving it into the basket, there is no point continuing. Play within the architecture of the referees. Some refs call it tight, some refs won’t bail you out on sloppy drives. If they’re not calling it, stop doing the same thing over and over again and complaining…. just shoot 3s. There aren’t many people on the Warriors that Tatum doesn’t just shoot over.

This belongs in the Fix thread hehe...I agree very much...you can't keep forcing drives to the basket when they're not calling fouls, especially if it is a foul hunting drive, which are not advised anyway.
At home we may be able to drive a lot and get some calls..but if not stop it...and definitely don't expect to get many calls on drives back in SF.  Have to be crafty architects in game 7...

Don't sweat the small stuff.

This season went far better than I thought possible as an optimistic fan. We're playing with the house's money, and in the big picture, it's just a game. We can still win this series, and the team is a contender regardless for the next few years and maybe longer.

I may not see another Cs' banner, but I expect I will with the Js and whomever.

My nerves ?

I have been drinking a fifth of Crown every night since game 5.

Does that answer your question ?

After the Celts lost game 4, I expected a game 5 loss, but us to win game 6. I am still expecting that. That means it's all on the line in game 7 Sunday. Everyone of us on this site would have been ecstatic to be in game 7 of the NBA Finals when the season started. I certainly believe we can win Game 7 in the Bay. I just don't know if we will.

again, the problem is losing game 4. that changed the whole series mentally, emotionally and psychologically whether people want to admit it or not. had we done that game 6 should be a closeout game. it is just not for us. it is for GS. see if we can extend. only thing you can count on from this team seems to be turnovers. missed FT's and dumb decisions.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

the problem has been that when the bench gets into the game, they're not producing anything.  Grant, PP and White aren't hitting shots since game 1.   if at least 2 of them can hit shots, that'll make a huge difference in the game.  Ime's offense is predicated on a drive and kick approach but when it's kicked out to guys laying bricks, we're digging huge holes for ourselves.

Yeah I was going to say, Ime doesn't have much of a choice. Now I'd still agree that I want Nesmith to get at least a few minutes maybe just to see if he can provide a bit of a spark. But it's not like Ime's "punishing" any of the starters by playing them heavy minutes. When Grant, PP and White are all terrible like in Game 5, then Ime has to prioritize playing the starters otherwise GSW would just wipe the floor with us the more the former 3 play and shoot ice cold.

I mean we may have lost by 10 anyways, but if Tatum and Brown played less minutes compared to Grant, PP and White we probably would have lost by 20+ lol

At the end of the day, our role players need to step up and shoot well for us to have a chance too. Or at least be decent

Found money.

This whole playoff run has just been happy & content for me. I did not expect this team to be as good as it became. So it's a beautiful surprise like found money. Happy days.

As long as the bench keeps the score close (doesn't create a huge deficit), then it's worth having giving the starters rest, regardless of White or Pritchard hitting shots.  Sometimes they miss a bunch but the score remains even or only a small deficit is created...in those cases keep the bench players in a bit longer.

The rest is vital IMO.

I don’t understand all the talk about “playing with house money” and such.  Sure, if someone told you when they were 18-21 that they’d be down 3-2 in the NBA Finals, you’d take that all day, but expectations shifted rather rapidly throughout 2022 to the point where many were picking the Celtics to win the Finals before the playoffs started.  Future finals appearances are never guaranteed no matter how young the core is.  Just ask the Thunder.  I really don’t see they Celtics having an easier path to a championship as they had this year.  So to go from up 2-1 and leading in the 4th quarter of game 4 to down 3-2 is incredibly frustrating.
