15 or less turnovers a game, the Celtics are 13 and 2 this playoffs.

16 or more we are 0 and 5. So a deep dive into these numbers means if we don't turn the freaking ball over we win an NBA championship.

The most turnovers in a quarter that's permissible is 4. That's how I'd like to view it, especially in this series where entire games have been decided by nuclear runs from both sides. Focus quarter by quarter, play by play, and keep control of the basketball.

Don't fall for the traps of driving into the collapsing Golden State defence. Gotta keep our head up - there are open guys all over the perimeter when one of our players gets the ball inside. We can do this. Easily.

I would say 12.  The Warriors are too good of an offensive team and will make you pay in transition.  Most of the Celtics’ turnovers have been unforced.

When the C's go over 10 turnovers and are close to 15, the Garden needs to show it on the big screen to let the guys know!

And then they could just start shooting from beyond the half court line, thereby guaranteeing victory.  ;)

Both the losses were to Milwaukee.  It was game 3 with the 34-17 3rd quarter for the Bucks in which Boston had 7 of their 12 turnovers and game 5 with the 33-21 4th quarter for the Bucks in which Boston had 5 of their 10 turnovers.  So even in those 2 losses, the C's still had an awful quarter in taking care of the ball, which led to an awful deficit in that quarter.

I’d say a good target is 12. I think 15 is pushing it. If Tatum and Smart can have less than 4 TOs each, given how much they handle the ball, I think that’s also a good barometer.

12,13, even 14 turnovers likely gets a win for the Celtics.  Of you start pushing that to 17 or 18 that's almost an automatic loss.

Crazy how about 3 or four turnovers is the difference between winning and losing.  Take care of the ball!

The fact that we possibly could have won if we instead had 18 24 second violations that didnt result in 33 points because the defense would have been set against GS vs turning it over like crazy as we did in G2 that GS turned into easy points speaks volume that we really really reallly do need to take care of the ball.

The target number for unforced turnovers should be zero.
That way there's a chance to end up with 8 or 9 to 12 or 13 or so for the game, given the excellent pestering defense one sees in the playoffs..

(I'm not talking about turnovers where the defense makes a great read and jumps into the passing lane for a steal...which is a more understandable/acceptable type of turnover...in other words great defense).

More talking about ill advised moves in traffic, general carelessness, etc...  With a target of zero for those types we could say 4 would be an acceptable number for the game, plus 5-8 more turnovers created by great defense by the opposition would be a total of 9-12 total turnovers for the game.

That's doable I think!  Go C's!

The # I look at is assists.

We only have lost once in the playoffs when we have 25+ assists, and only have 2 wins when we have fewer than 25.

Celtics with 28 assists tonight, and the win.

And 12 turnovers (I think we had 11 after three quarters).

We are simply unstoppable when the ball moves and we take care of it

I guess the Warriors are also an amazing 3rd quarter team, and the Celtics are a potato 3rd quarter team

It's frustrating to watch but if the Celtics keep winning 4th quarters that helps.
