Celtics (1-0) at Warriors (0-1) The Finals Game #2 6/5/22

We're lucky to be within two because I've been very unhappy with our level of play.  Forcing bad shots, turning the ball over, and giving GS a lot of good shots at the rim.  They aren't getting a lot of great looks against us in iso but their off-ball cuts are hurting us quite a bit especially in the second quarter.  And I feel like Payton has made a big difference in this game because he gives GS a high-level on-ball defender which they lacked in G1. 

Tatum found his jumpshot and that kept us close.  2-9 inside the arc though.  And Jaylen fell off a cliff after starting hot. 

I hope to see better basketball in the second half.

Bad half for Smart.  Play D Marcus and pass the ball -- get your head in this.

That was a very unentertaining half of basketball.  Improve your product NBA.  Start with getting competent officials.

I noticed the Warriors are actually respecting Horford tonight. Even if he's out in the perimeter, someone is going out there too. But yeah I'd like to see Horford get aggressive

Smart and Tatum have to clean up the TOs. We can't win with them continuing to force bad passes and getting turnovers. And Horford with 0 shot attempts. Not sure what's going on with that, but he's got to be more aggressive.

horford needs to PUT BALL BACK after O rebounds and draw fouls instead of these kickouts

Al Horford is your barometer for ball movement. It hasn’t been there for the C’s just yet. If Al’s getting shots, you know there’s ball movement. If Al’s getting assists, you know there’s ball movement. We’re winning individual matchups and a large part of that is because of how the Warriors are defending. They aren’t throwing as many doubles and this is why Tatum has scored 21.

Lot of things to nitpick and the refs, but turnovers are the difference. GSW has 18 points off turnovers compared to our 7. And also some of the turnovers by Smart and Tatum were BAD. Like it's one thing if it's a close play, but just passing it right to a defender or literally to no one (which Smart did once, and a GSW defender ran to grab it) is inexcusable

We still have a half to go, but I have to say, if that was the Warriors best shot with their back against the wall, we're in good shape in this series.
