We can definitely nitpick a lot of the smaller things. But my biggest takeaway is that, Golden State's defense definitely isn't as good as years past. Klay looks a bit shaky on that end, and as good as Draymond is he can't guard everyone.

Yes, the offensive rebounds we gave up were absolutely frustrating to watch
but the C's can definitely drive inside on the offensive end as much as they want.

The rebounding is still a concern for me. We are the bigger team in the ECF and now the Finals and we get embarrassed giving our opponent multiple second chances. During practices before Game 2, Ime needs to run those box-out drills you see high school teams do when a coach is trying to teach fundamentals. Put a strong body on someone !!!!!
It's not too much of a concern for me. They rebounded well enough during their runs in the 2nd and 4th quarters. Also it's a little more challenging with 3 pt shooting teams because the rebounds tend to be long ones.

what's crazy is they ended up having the same amount or rebounds as GS.
They have to do a better job at getting those rebounds off the shorter shots though. It will bite them eventually if they allows GS to get 2nd and 3rd chances in a close game.

Just rewatched the the stretch in the 4th from where Brown got caught in the air and turned it over. Celts were down 3 with ball.  Golden State scores in transition off the turnover to go back up 5.  Could be a crusher.  Golden State proceeds to score on 5 (or was it 6?) straight possessions, but actually sees their lead dissipate, as the Celtics are one upping their 2-pointers with 3-pointers.  Just incredible shooting and mental toughness.

Loved the moment where play was going on while they were playing Steve Kerr pumping up the Warriors during a timeout after the Celts when up by 3 (around the 5 minute mark):  "We gotta play with more force.  They're hitting all sorts of shots.  We're at home.  Only down 3.  Just gotta grab the momentum."  As they're playing this, Celts force a turnover, and Horford goes down and swishes another 3 to go up 6.   Warriors never recovered.

It'd be nice if the Celtics could also show up at home now. I mean that's literally all they need to do when you think about it, protect homecourt and they win the series. I don't think they will but they are in a good spot overall. They are certainly capable of taking 1 more AT Golden State if needed.

Tatum missing one thing, killer instinct..Bird, Magic, Kobe, Jordan had it..when he gets it, no one stopping him

Yeah. A guy who put up 46 points in an elimination game on the road has no killer instinct. ::)

Jayson played the right way last night. His shot wasn't falling and instead of trying to force the issue to the detriment of his team, he fed his teammates who had it going. That's the type of development I really appreciate.

LOL saw that. if we take game 2 we will have kerr by the short and curlies.

we need to pound them even harder and more down low next game. take theoir best shot and knock them out this time. i want guys stuck to curry like super glue. This is not a bucks defense down low or even bum adebayo. lean on and wear out curry and klay. pound on green. looney is a nobody. keep him moving.

Warriors especially Green are very cocky..they probably thought they would sweep the Celtics

yeah i've never heard a team say after a loss "well they just shot well they arent that good" which is basically what he is saying.

while discounting they shot well and tatum shot 17%

He didn't say that.

"They stayed within striking distance and they made shots late," Green said. "We'll be fine. We'll figure out the ways we can stop them from getting those 3s and take them away. I don't think it was a rhythm thing. We pretty much dominated the game for the first 41, 42 minutes, so we'll be fine."

"They hit 21 3s and Marcus Smart, Al Horford and Derrick White combined for 15," Green said. "Those guys are good shooters, but they combined for what, 15 out of eight, Smart seven, eight, 15-for-23. Is my math right? Eight, seven and eight. Eight, seven and eight. Yea, that's 23, right? 15-for-23 from those guys. Eh. We'll be fine."

He quite literally said they are good.

They dominated for 41, 42 minutes? They were up four after the first quarter and down at halftime. They dominated the 3rd quarter. That's it.

This one isn't nearly over, and (ex-Tatum) we're not going to be able to keep shooting at the same rate, but we're bigger and younger, and have the ability to wear these guys down.

I just am shocked this is the warriors attitude. I think it's disrespectful to the Celtics.

Usually you hear "oh they punched us in the face that's a good team we need to respond."

Instead it's basically "eh they are just lucky they aren't that good" but great keep that attitude maybe Tatum will go off for 46 next game.

It just sounds cocky to me. Maybe smart/horford and white slow down Abit. But Tatum isn't going to shoot 17% every night.

Yeah, the producers couldn't have timed that cut any better even if they could have seen into the future.

Draymond's not wrong that Horford, Smart and White very likely won't shoot 16-23 from behind the arc every night (though it'd be nice)

However, Klay and Draymond are making it sound like the C's were the only team shooting well, as if Golden State wasn't either. They still shot 42% from 3. Curry was 7-14 (50%). Sure, Klay and Wiggins could do a little better (they were 5-14 combined) but Porter was 4-5 from 3. Also while it wasn't 40-16, the Warriors did have a 38-24 third quarter. And the biggest point, Tatum shot 3-17. I'd be shocked if he had another night like that this series.

Draymond should probably also look himself in the mirror. 2-12 shooting night, 4 points, and idk who he was primarily guarding in the 4th but he didn't seem to have any impact on the defensive end that quarter either, even on drives into the paint.

they can cry all night about AL, white and smart

what if next game JT , PP And gwill go off? because all 3 can hit 3's.

GS is making excuses because they are a cocky, arrogant, narcissistic team who most hate.

find a way to put them down 2-0 and watch them crack mentally. we can play much better in a myriad of ways which we did not. If we ever play smart for 48 GS will really see how good we are.

Also did Draymond forget their best player put up 34? Like... are we sure Curry is going to average 30+ this entire series ? And despite that they still lost by 12 at home

Draymond forgot that JT will not put up 12 points again. He'll put up 20+.

Rob being on the court doing what he can helps. Playing at 50-60% is better than nothing.
