Smart shooting.  0-6 from the paint.  3-4 midrange.  1-4 corner 3's.  4-8 above break 3's.

His only turnover was off the steal near midcourt that he threw off Tatum's feet.

Just a masterclass by Smart outside of blowing 3 gimme layups.

PAYTON PLUS 41  SETS RECORD

KID IS A BEAST

He plays his ass off and he's got some nice chemistry going with Tatum.
Nice pocket pass to Grant in the post

Did pritchard really say herro was too small to guard him?? Lol i saw several tweets

Imagine having to play against Smart, Grant Williams, Robert Williams, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum every practice.

Even the Celtic baby Nesmith is relentless.

Payton must feel like 7 feet tall.

It’s early, but he’s not showing those choke tendencies like Doc has

Tatum got his second foul with 4:14 left in the first, after charging into Butler. The entirety of the 17-0 run came with him on the bench.

Doc won because of a healthy Big 3 and Tom Thibs.

According to every single player except maybe Rondo, Doc was the right person at the right time for us in 2008.

Doc brought Ubuntu.

Having said that, yeah, Ime might be better. Time will tell.

I slammed Ime quite a bit earlier this season. But he's gotten his team to buy in and they've gotten better and better the longer the season has gone on. That's the definition of a top coach.

I think with Doc the problem was he didn't evolve. The game has changed and he hasn't, that's all.

I also think Doc has gotten worse as time has gone on. He was way better in Orlando and with us than he was in LA or Philly thus far
