Ime Udoka on Rob Williams injury: "I think Rob just got cramp in his calf from what I heard so nothing to do with his knee."

Ime Udoka: "Having Marcus and Al might have helped, because they settle us down, but it wasn't really just that. And it wasn't our young guys, Payton and Aaron, but it was our veterans Jayson and Jaylen who let it get away from us."

Some harsh words for his 2 stars

Glad he called them out. They looked emotionless in the 2nd half.

I can't imagine Kobe or Jorden being so meh.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Yep. Love it. Hold them accountable. I think they'll repsond.

He's right. Tatum was particularly awful in that 3rd quarter.

Those two guys got used to coasting at certain parts of the game while Al and Smart keep things going. They didn't have that luxury tonight.

Not at all worried.  Miami played one good quarter.  We've struggled in the 3rd these playoffs, and we didn't have Smart or Horford.  I'm actually less worried about this series than I was before this game.  They're not that good.

Have to say, I agree. They had the one run and Butler went insane, but other than that they're very beatable. Butler ain't getting 40 again when he doesn't have PP to pick on the entire game.

Smart man  :)

…and when Brothers isn’t gifting him 18 FTs

Yes, Butler shot around 47 FTs tonight.  Smart will put on the clamps, though.  Hopefully next game.

clearly, some of you guys have never played a game when you’re completely gassed.

what we saw tonight was a perfect example of how a team plays when it’s gassed: stupid reach fouls and poor close-out fouls instead of moving your feet. jump shots and drives to the rim fall short, you commit stupid, lazy turnovers, and you miss free throws. proud of these guys for gutting it out and not quitting, which would have been easy in a situation like this.

add a rested al and marcus to this mix and we’ll see a different c’s team in game two.

Yes, they were most likely gassed. It’s the eastern conference finals against an inferior roster so being gassed isn’t a good enough or relevant enough excuse for me to forgive completely blowing and throwing away a game in 1 quarter

so you’ve never played a game completely gassed. got it, thanks.

Pretty amazing that Spolestra is able to work 2 undrafted players into his starting lineup and get the win. Vincent and Strus were also #3 and #4 for points scored for the Heat and both guys played more minutes than Herro.
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

You want to be a hof, you dig and find a way. Jordan played with a flu,  bird and Kobe through injuries.  You want a seat at that table you overcome.

Seriously?

Your Celtics news is always pretty spot-on.
