To whom does playing every other day favor? Has to be the Heat right?

When we get Horford and Smart back, we'll have a deeper team so the schedule will favour us. They will tire. Get worn down.

Not at all worried.  Miami played one good quarter.  We've struggled in the 3rd these playoffs, and we didn't have Smart or Horford.  I'm actually less worried about this series than I was before this game.  They're not that good.

Have to say, I agree. They had the one run and Butler went insane, but other than that they're very beatable. Butler ain't getting 40 again when he doesn't have PP to pick on the entire game.

Smart man  :)

…and when Brothers isn’t gifting him 18 FTs

Yes, Butler shot around 47 FTs tonight.  Smart will put on the clamps, though.  Hopefully next game.

definitely, he was able to play tonight but the nba told him they were notified too late
Seriously?

Your Celtics news is always pretty spot-on.

there’s a reason for that

I'd settle for a Janos autograph. I imagine it's probably signed 'Is Janos'

clearly, some of you guys have never played a game when you’re completely gassed.

what we saw tonight was a perfect example of how a team plays when it’s gassed: stupid reach fouls and poor close-out fouls instead of moving your feet. jump shots and drives to the rim fall short, you commit stupid, lazy turnovers, and you miss free throws. proud of these guys for gutting it out and not quitting, which would have been easy in a situation like this.

add a rested al and marcus to this mix and we’ll see a different c’s team in game two.

Yes, they were most likely gassed. It’s the eastern conference finals against an inferior roster so being gassed isn’t a good enough or relevant enough excuse for me to forgive completely blowing and throwing away a game in 1 quarter

so you’ve never played a game completely gassed. got it, thanks.

You want to be a hof, you dig and find a way. Jordan played with a flu,  bird and Kobe through injuries.  You want a seat at that table you overcome.

so, none of those guys lost a playoff game or a game when they were gassed?

our guys were gassed for legitimate reasons and were missing two starters. you’re being irrational.

What does that even mean? We have like 5-6 players at the end of the bench that never play. Why wouldn’t they put Smart of the active roster just in case?

I don't know the exact rule, or why they wouldn't do that just in case, i was actually wondering, I just know this is what transpired

My guess is they declared him out and he tried to talk his way into playing and they told him it was too late. They wanted to be conservative. Otherwise to be caught with your pants down like that would be inexcusable.

Dunno about you, but Game 2 gonna have to be a must-win game. Having Smart back should help us a bit. Hopefully Horford can play if he tests negative.

Didn't get to watch the game as I was working, but it really goes to show how small the margins for error at this level are. If that Miami run had been half as big it might have been a different story. But that's all hypothetical now. Hopefully Al is able to come back and play in Game 2, we looked thin with two guys out. Tough on Nesmith to get thrown into the deep end - but these are the moments the bench guys need to be ready for. Still all to play for, we only need one away win and we need to defend home court.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D
