Plain and simple.
Shots not falling.
If we make our open looks we win.
beat me to it. if the celtics make their open shots they win. simple.

the celtics are the better team...when they make their shots.

My concerns are based mostly on stats…the team that won game 5 in a 2-2 series went on to win game 7 82% of the time or something. Also, no team has won 2 straight games in this particular series. The Cs are gonna have to play really well in order to get the W. It helps that we have homecourt advantage. Oddsmakers currently have the Celtics as 5.5 point favorites for what it’s worth.

here is a stat for you.

as of 2018 (could not find more recent) out of 129 Game 7's since 1947, the home team has won 103 time.

celtics will beat the bucks.

The fact that it's 3pm Sunday matinee. That's my biggest concern. I have a feeling these guys wake up a few hours before 7pm games and this early start messes them up. Other than that, just consistency and sticking to the game plan and moving the ball, whether they are making shots or not.

We have to go with authority. We are Celtics going for banner 18, game 7 in Boston, in TD Garden. Let's stop worry, let Bucks be worried.

Turnovers.

C’s have mostly been the better team until they start giving it away. Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart are prone to mental meltdowns, comparative to their peers. If we get good games out of those guys, we win. If they lose their minds, it’ll be hard to win. You can’t afford too many mistakes in the playoffs (against any team, not just the bucks)

Biggest worries;

 - Bucks roleplayers due for good shooting
 - Are we due for another poor shooting night? I really hope not
 - Please, please let us see some Spurs type ball movement. Please, please. Please.

Obviously if we shoot well we have a huge advantage. But I think we can still win even if we don't shoot well. The 2nd half of the season we had over ten wins where we shot less than 40%, vs the first half where we had zero. But we have to play the right way offensively, moving the ball, to make the Bucks work defensively, even if the shots rim out. And the defense has to be the same whether we're making or missing. We have to chase them off the perimeter. Even if Giannis gets 40 again I don't think they win unless he has support.

My biggest worry is one of our three main guys on offense (2 J's and Mahcus) trying to take the game over by himself and forgetting about team basketball.

That we play strong, aggressive defense for 3 quarters and score in transition, that we have both player and ball movement that produces layups and open perimeter shots in our half-court sets and that we pick our spots and drive to the basket without turning the ball over and that we work very hard to block out and rebound and prevent second-chance putbacks by the Bucks.

Until ................. the 4th quarter when, for some unknown reason, the Celts revert to walking the ball up the court possession after possession, handing it over to Jayson Tatum out front and allowing him to spend the rest of the game going iso and jacking up difficult 3-balls, hoping they go in. Coach Ime not only doesn't call timeout to correct the way we are playing, but seems to support it.

The lead starts to dwindle and I start to worry ..............................
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Not taking it to the basket.  Chucking 3pt shots.

This is almost exactly what happened in game 5

Pat Connaughton and Jrue Holiday having career nights against us for some whatever odd reasons

C's shooting themselves in the foot (Game 5)

Incompetent refs (Game 3)

C's completely mailing it in, thought they had the series won so they don't try for Game 7

That's about it.  If the team plays its game, we should win.

It feels that way.  But of course it's a basketball game v. a team with a generational force and a decent group of shooters.  They get hot, C's get into early foul trouble, Giannis makes his FTs...
