And what did Giannis say exactly? Horford said he could not tell, but knew it was a diss he had to respond to. And, wow, did he respond…give the man the Pulitzer of Basketball!

Horford admits a taunt by Giannis earlier in the night got to him: "“I don’t really know what he said to me, but the way that he was looking at me and the way he was going about it really didn’t sit well with me. And I think at that point, something switched with me in the game.”

Thank you, Giannis.

It's an intense series, and it was a big time play for Giannis. I personally thought it was a weak 'T', unless of course he said something extremely bad, which is out of character for him. What Al did 2 quarters later was no different in my opinion. Big play, against a big defender, and he showed his emotion.

"it really didn't sit well this me" was a huge understatement for the press.  Horford is nodding his head as if to say, "Okay act that way, but you will get yours" and Horford fulfilled that promise.

You don't pull on Superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, you don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger, and you don't mess around with Al.

It isn't like the taunt immediately triggered a massive run.  It was with about 11 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.  After that sequence it was 54-49 Milwaukee, at one point still in the 3rd quarter Milwaukee extended its lead to 11 and they were up 7 headed to the 4th quarter.  I believe Boston had such a great 4th quarter in both game 3 and 4 because Giannis is getting tired (Boston also won the 4th in game 2).  Giannis doesn't have the ability to take possessions off without Middleton there to carry some of the offensive load and it is just wearing him down.  That really is where not having Middleton has really hurt the Bucks, it just makes Giannis work all game long on both ends of the floor more than he normally would have to.  So maybe the taunt energized Horford, but I'm also not sure it would have mattered if Giannis was worn out.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

You're probably right.  Al didn't explode until the 4th quarter; his play in the third was nothing to write home about.  But, I prefer the revenge narrative anyway.

Lol
I love all the love Big Al is getting nationally (and locally), but I'm guessing Giannis has given about a billionth the amount of thought any media or fans have given it.
Yup

Hope not. He should continue to taunt each and every player on the C’s.  :D
