At the end of the season, were the Bucks trying to avoid the Nets or were they just not afraid of Boston? It took just game 1 for Milwaukee to get home court advantage.

To blame the refs for any part if this loss is ridiculous. The Celtics showed up like they just won the title and this was an exhibition so everyone can see the Celtics again.

Maybe it really was them trying to avoid the Nets. The C's should've just tanked for the Bulls or Raptors. Like you said, all it takes is losing one game at home and HCA is gone. And to win championships, you need to be able to win games on the road.

Only 10 made two point shots all game. Good grief. Credit to the Bucks - we fell right into their trap. Ime has to figure out how to get us easier looks inside the three point line. We're not built to win a shootout.

Yikes that's bad. And I think 2 of those shots came on easy "we don't care" layups including the garbage-time one late (lol)

We got our ass kicked in every category today. The next game is critical.

Cs contained Giannis's scoring and he picked them apart with 12 assists. Maybe invert our D and make Giannis beat us instead of giving everyone else open looks.

Yeah, pretty much this. I was pondering whether we should do this the past few days on here, as the others for Milwaukee are too good to give those kinds of looks to.

And when you think about it, this is how we beat Milwaukee previously. We used Al to try and contain Giannis as much as possible, but we shut everyone else down. I think that's what we have to do.

it was like the C's read their good press this past week instead of keeping mentally strong.

good point - they did not play with their normal intense focus.
lack of focus usually leads to bad shooting.

Celts shooting is off the entire game, so we adjust by jacking up 50 three-balls. What kind of basketball is that ?

Observations : Horrendous game for both J's. They shot 32% fg%.  It was even worse except for some of JB's garbage points. The Greek had a poor shooting game but had a triple double. Key stats : The Greek had 12 assists. JT had 6 assists. JB with 7 TO's. You'd think that Brown would learn to cut down on turnover at this point in his career. His BBIQ is suspect. Ime had no adjustments or strategy for the Bucks 3 bigs. The Celts won't win this series if they have to rely on 3 point shots. It's great when 3's go in, but we don't have enough 3 point shooters. The Bucks are playing like champs even without their second best player, Middleton. Some may make excuses for Brown b/c of his hamstring injury. Well, if he was so hampered by the injury, more of his minutes should have been given to White and Pritchard.

Well that sounds good, but then you can't let Holiday play like all-nba.  He killed us today as well.

Just deploy the LeBron strategy. Guard everyone but their star player. That's how we beat him in 2010 or win some of those playoff games against him

True, but I think today was an aberration. He's not going to play like this every game. I think he'll regress to the mean a bit.

Any worries about the offense showed up today. They’ve looked awful. Gotta get that fixed going forward.

I had a concern that they had started getting away from their ball movement vs Nets. You saw a little more iso creeping back in.
There was less ball movement and seemed like zero player movement.

This.   The Nets poor defense may have lulled the C's back into thinking in one on one terms...

To win a title the passing/ball movement has to be next level....  Today was dribble dribble dribble then look for an overly difficult pass to make.
Huge number of turnovers on ill advised passes.  You have to set the tone with movement...you can't go individual and then try to pass as a bailout...

I noticed the Bucks were kind of doing that to Tatum today too. Tatum would be forced to make a pass or settle for a long, awkward jumper. And it worked because Jaylen looked like a deer in headlights for most of the game. That's why Jaylen has to wake up. We may have gotten by BKN and their bad defense but if Jaylen can't show up for a consistent 40+ minutes a game this series our chances aren't high to win the series. Tatum won't put up 30+ every single game.

They hunted mismatches against the Nets and that was the right move. Gotta go back to the flowing offense against this team.

Problem is the Bucks are giving up the 3’s. You saw what happened when the went to the rim. Stopped by Gannis & Lopez.  Gotta move the ball, get better looks.

The play where they called a foul on Grant when Allen kicks his feet up and they watch it, clearly an offensive foul, call a jump ball sums up how bad the refs were. We played badly but saying the refs had to affect is like you didn't watch the game.
