Who would be your dream addition for the mid level if we bring back and keep the starting 5 plus White, Grant, Pritchard and Theis?

1)TJ Warren
2) Robert Covington
3) Otto Porter Jr
4) Kyle Anderson

Team needs a backup SF.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Given the Celtics will be a tax paying team, our mid-level exception will only be a bit over 6 million.

That doesn’t leave the Celtics with much options, unless the player is willing to take a discount for a chance at a championship.

- Joe Ingles
- Pat Connaughton
- JaVale McGee
- Bruce Brown Jr.
- Jeff Green

Any of these players would be a great addition for the MLE.

—————————

If I had to make a choice, I’d go with Ingles (if he comes back healthy) specifically because he offers what we are lacking off the bench; shooting, playmaking and leadership.

Williams III
Horford
Tatum
Brown
Smart

White, Ingles, Williams, Theis, Prichard, Nesmith
5' 10" former point guard

Career highlight: 1973-74 championship, Boston Celtics

Career lowlight: traded for a washing machine

Dream addition?  Harrison Barnes.

For the MLE, any of the names mentioned so far would be fine.

I like Daniel Theis, but I think backup center is the weakest spot in the 9-man rotation. I'd like to replace Theis with someone who is a better/bigger defender, stronger on the offensive glass and can shoot more consistently.  Now if Theis can improve/regain his touch, then I'm fine with him because he gives a different look than Timelord, somebody the defense has to pay attention to on the perimeter.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
Otto Porter Jr. would be my primary realistic target.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Will The Celtics still have TPE's to use this summer if they wanted?

Is the tax payer MLE going to be enough for an impact guy?

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

Who would this better/bigger/stronger defender that can shoot and control the glass be? Sounds like a big ask for somebody making the taxpayer MLE. Maybe we can grab Embiid or Jokic to be our back-up Center.

Theis is pretty much the ideal fit for this roster when completely healthy, and adequate when not. He literally can do all of the things you describe - maybe not at an elite level - but the fact that he is so versatile (and coachable) is a super-underrated part of his game.

As a realistic get, I continue to be a fan of Otto Porter Jr.  He would be the perfect backup for sf and pf.  He can shoot, rebound, and play good D, and from what I've read, a decent guy.  He is 28 on a $2.4 Mil contract with GS that ends this year.  Get him Brad.

Oh, it's supposed to be a realistic addition...

Like I said, I’m fine with DT if he would shoot more consistently.

OP said it’s a dream addition. I don’t know who, I’m dreaming.
