There's a lot of people saying the C's were probably lucky because Durant didn't look like Durant today, which is true. But I also don't think Kyrie and Dragic are going to play like that ALL series long either. Dragic was underratedly huge for them with 15 points, his shots kept them in the game in the 2nd and 3rd when they fell behind by double digits.

And yeah, besides KD and Kyrie I don't see their role players making a huge difference. Maybe 1 game this series they help them and win, but even today outside of Dragic the rest of the guys were meh.

Nets basically need BOTH KD + Kyrie to go off to win this series. They nearly won today thanks to Kyrie going scorched earth in the 2nd half

Agreed. That was close to their best shot. The Nets were incredibly lucky to get that type of a performance from Kyrie. He'll give you one now and then but has some real clunkers in between. Nets aren't winning when he has those clunkers.

This was a win they needed. A wasted and hugely hurtful lost opportunity. Kyrie only has so many of those in him.

Dragic might. He always turns into Superman when he plays us.

i loathe that guy after covid ECF year ugh!

Irving is such a fraud - watching his presser. He is so in love with himself and his imaginary world.
I think he quite genuinely has a narcissistic personality disorder.

he has issues no doubt. he is cussing up a storm on post game interview on NBA channel
He also flipped off people in the crowd multiple times, and mock-imitated crying expressions.

I love how he said that there’s no hostility in the Boston crowd and yet he flipped people off. I’m just glad he’s out of our team now.

I hate to be that guy, but I despise the fact that the Celtics are forced to wear their third jersey on their home court because Nike tells them to and Brooklyn somehow get to wear their home jersey.

So it is, in fact, Nike calling the shot on which uniforms we wear ?

If so, just makes me despise that company even more. We need to be out there in our traditional home whites - long recognized as one of the most iconic jerseys in all of sports. Those "city edition" things should be banned. Always about the dollar.

Yep 100%

Here’s a quote from 2018:

“The league gives us a master schedule,” said Celtics travel and equipment coordinator John Connor.

“We put it on the wall and we just give out what’s on the wall. We get the schedule and what we’re supposed to wear from the league, and it’s for the whole year. It used to be Paul Pierce saying, ‘Hey, let’s wear the green/black ones.’ Not anymore. The players can’t control it.”

Yeah unfortunately Dragic might be the "JJ Reddick/Kyle Korver" against us this series. Guys who kill us from the perimeter and just turn it up in a "pesky" kind of role.

Think how many times Smart has taken that bad shot or how many times he has forced the ball into traffic there ........ then how many times Tatum has missed layups and he makes a tough spinning layup under pressure.

Antonio Brown and Kyrie are funny people. They claim they don't let the noise get to them, blah blah blah yet their literally prove that it does either during games or in post-game pressers. Super insecure people. AB has bigger, more troubling issues but Kyrie is also clearly a headcase.

I honestly wonder too if the Nets locker room outside of KD even likes him. Harden has the star power where he can do whatever he wants so he decided to leave BKN by orchestrating a trade because of Kyrie but I wouldn't be surprised if we learned that the younger guys on this BKN team actually hates Kyrie. Make no mistake, BKN didn't sign Kyrie because of Kyrie, it's because he was part of a package deal with KD

Kind of crazy that between now and next Sunday, only two more games will be played this series (because of the multiple off-days between games). But honestly I think that's good for us. Horford gets some rest, and Timelord has some more time to potentially return in say, a Game 5. I feel confident in saying Timelord returning is probably a bigger impact move than Ben Simmons, unless if Simmons has been healthy this whole time and they were faking everything from the start. But he hasn't played in over a year and idk if he's even in the game shape to play in a game like today (which was intense for sure from start to finish)

Thankfully we can bait Dragic into living inside and shooting from the mid-range. He doesn't have quite the same ability to put up 9-12 points in 2 minutes
