What’s more intense?

Celtics vs Nets, or @scaryjerry vs the blog

My biggest concern is, the C’s have had trouble in close games and also in games where if the refs favor another team on some calls the C’s seem to get flustered. And the Nets have KD + Kyrie who will get some calls probably, and sometimes all it takes is one pivotal game to shift a series in one team’s direction

Don’t you know there won’t be close games because the Celtics are that good!?

I don’t have the mental capacity to listen to such homerism that a team with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving has no chance.

Your post I 100 percent agree with

I'd be worried about a team built around Durant and Kyrie if they had more talent around them ... but they don't.

That is a terrible Nets team three through ten.

Those two stars simply do not have enough help to be dangerous in the playoffs.

Not to detract from this heated pre-playoff banter. But is your name an homage to Terry Rozier's nickname (Scary Terry)

Agreed.  On paper, the Celtics have a chance.  But we all know the zebras control the narrative.

I tend to agree. It can be difficult to take off the green colored glasses at times, but speaking as objectively as I can, this Celtics defense is spectacular, one of the best NBA defenses we've seen in the last 10 years. I think if the Celtics remain healthy, as is, I'm predicting a sweep, and I think each game will be won in fairly convincing fashion.

Gonna be a long week of hand wringing waiting on Sunday.
Hope the Celtic players have been off their feet resting the past couple of days.

Yea I can see it already.

Two early fouls and the Celts are fighting an uphill battle, we can't play physical and the nets can

Huge test for Udoka

Udoka's first playoff run as a head coach. Let's see what he's made of. Pace of the game slows down in the postseason.

C's need to defend home-court. If they lose G1 or G2, momentum will quickly shift to the other side...can't let that happen.

Home crowd is gonna be amazing, but really sucks that with Lebron leaving the East, he's replaced with Durant and Kyrie and Harden, who are equally Edited for profanity.  Please do not do it again.y and foul mongering.

Feels like the poor reffing takes a bite out of the homecourt advantage.

Eh I find a comment like this to be insane and sprinkled with green pixie dust especially when both KD and Kyrie are good enough to steal 1 game each by themselves.
I agree the nets roster has played poorly around them this yearbut they have plenty of players who can step it up a game or 2
Goran dragic
Patty mills
Seth curry
Ben Simmons situation
Andre Drummond
Brown due for some big games

Honestly not that bad of a roster on paper especially when you consider KD and Kyrie, there record is as bad as it is due to injuries, vaccinations statuses, big in season trades etc.

Yeah, I'm super-worried about game 1. If we come out and lay an egg after a long lay-off, it'll be hard to come back from that. Watching this game made me realize how much I really hate Kyrie - the guy just has the worst personality in the world and I hate seeing him succeed.

Of course the Cs have a decent chance, but I don't think the rest of the Nets team is all that bad. And they become increasingly dangerous if Simmons suits up. Durant and Kyrie are both betas, though, so I hope we come out and punch them in the face rather than succumb to the moment.

I expect Brooklyn to win game 1, but Boston to win the series in 7.  I think the longer it goes the worse it will be for Brooklyn as they are more fragile and Durant and Irving will tire more easily (and they aren't nearly as good without them).

I think it goes seven.  We're down 3-2 going back to Brooklyn for Game 6.  Robert Williams returns and inspires us to victory in Games 6 and 7.

Celtics in 6.  Wrap it up on the Nets home court.

I would feel differently if Ben Simmons suits up. He is a serious difference maker. However, he is not fit to play. He hasn't played all season. And if he cannot go - this Nets supporting cast is one of the worst in the league and they do not have enough talent around Durant & Kyrie to compete with Boston.

Even with Ben Simmons, I don't have much faith in Brooklyn because he has not played a single game for them. They have no chemistry. No understanding of how to play together. Due to that lack of collective understanding, I do not take them seriously as a title threat even if Simmons returns and is able to play at a high level.

Next season? Yes. I take them as a serious title threat. They have a good chance to be the frontrunner to win the East next year. Give them a full season to incorporate Ben Simmons, get Joe Harris back from injury (their 4th best player) and a summer to rejig that supporting cast and they will be back in business as a title contender.

But right here, right now? Nope. Not a title threat. Not a top team. Without Ben Simmons (and to a lesser extent Joe Harris) they are not even an above average team. They are a middle of the pack team that is dragged down to that level because of how miserable the rest of the squad is outside of Durant and Kyrie.
