There was a time for rest. That time is now over. Play your best the amount of time you need to win and not one second less. Rest in the off-season. Now is the time you cowboy up and play.

It's the playoffs. Stars play over 40 minutes. High end starters over 37-38 minutes.

I was worried about minutes for Al all season but now I'm not. Long times between games. You have to go with your best guys. I wouldn't mind seeing Romeo getting some minutes if White can't work it out but the minutes seem fine.

I think the Celtics have moved on from giving Romeo minutes.

Are the Spurs going to lend the Celtics Langford for the playoffs?

I know you meant Nesmith, but have to say none of the bottom of the roster should be getting into these playoff games other than garbage time. Let White figure it out. He will. The Celtics will need him having playoff experience as time goes on.

Agreed.  I like Nesmith, but probably the only late-game situation I'd want him in is if we're down three with one second left.  Or, maybe Hauser.  But even then, you probably stick with White.

I'd take Pritchard in that situation, not Nesmith or the others.

Interesting turn of events so far in the playoffs in the east.  MIL gamed the standing to avoid BKN and now they have lost a game to CHI, plus maybe suffered an injury to a key player.  PHI is having some trouble with an under-manned Toronto.

PHI will likely get MIA in the second round, a tough match up for them.  We may get CHI.

I was high on Toronto going into the playoffs. I thought they were going to be a problem for Philly. Oops.

I think this Philly/Miami series in the second round could be really interesting.

The one thing that stands out to me in these playoffs is that no one, not one single team, is playing playoff defense anywhere close to the defense the Celtics have played.

And, the Celtics 2nd best defensive player hasn't even played a single minute yet. When Boston gets past Brooklyn and gets Timelord back, there is not a team that is going to figure out this defense to the tune of 4 wins out of 7.

The first title of the JT/JB/TL/Smart dynasty happens this year.
I'm with you on that one brother!

To be fair they lost Barnes in the first game, and Trent was basically useless with an extreme illness that let him to having 3 times as many fouls as field goals in the first two games. Healthy last night he went for 24. This is two of their top 4 players and even as a Rookie Barnes may be their most important defender. I think Philly would have won the series no matter what, and I may have slightly overrated Toronto heading into this series. However, I do believe it would have been a lot closer with Toronto in good health (and Philly is at full strength).

Our defense through two games hasn’t been particularly special, honestly.

Depending on how much you value some of the more nerdy stats for defense, the Celtics have been excellent on that end (fouls aside, but that appears to be by design - the Celtics appear perfectly content to beat the s*** out of Durant all game whether it results in a lot of FTs or not).  The Nets' expected eFG% on the shots they're taking has been very low.  To the Nets' credit, they're just making the shots anyway.

Yeah, I don't think our defence has been bad, their shot-making has just been really excellent.

Something that just hit me. Should we be worried the league will give us Tony Brothers and/or Scott Foster for either (or possibly both) of the next two games??  :(

This could just be a complete and utter misconception on my part, but I feel as if both of those guys are doing series' out in the west. Does the league ship them all over the country mid-series?

I think they can. But that's a good observation. I hope you're right lol
