I lean towards Theis. When Grant starts, he tries to do too much and usually it doesn't work in his favor. Theis can play solid defense, set good screens, and hit the occasional 3.

I'd also consider Nesmith if Ime doesn't mind starting out small.

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan

I’ve been saying Theis since Rob went down, and I will continue to say that until seeing it for at least three games.

I'd lean toward Theis, but I wouldn't be totally opposed to using White, either.

I don't love Grant there.  He doesn't bring anything that we can't get just by sliding Tatum over to PF.

I like Theis for continuity sake. Theis can approximate what Rob did the best out of the options, allowing our starters to play similarly.

Furthermore, our 3-man primary bench of White/Grant/Pritchard were all doing solid or better in those roles, and they don't get disrupted.

Yeh
I'd say Theis or White, or just start Grant and limit his minutes.  He is missing shots in the second half where he just looks tired.
Yup

Theis or White.

I think it should be White.  The Al-Rob lineup was fantastic but replicating the double big any other way may not yield good results.  Start White, bring in Theis and Grant off the bench and for goodness sake Ime, throw in nesmith or whomever so you're not just playing eight guys.

Can we start Hauser?

Horford, Tatum, Hauser, Brown, Smart.

I've also thought about that idea. Worth a try. Would be like Stevens always did.
Keeping the (bench) rotation the same and just plug-in someone in the starting line-up who fits.

That's what I was thinking and it would be good to have the shooting on the floor.

I really think Theis should be starting for his defense and rebounding. Let Grant play against the other teams second unit, where he won’t be as much of a liability defensively and hopefully he can get some more shots up with that group.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I'd try Nesmith at the 2 with Tatum playing the 4, just to see what he can do with the most support. Would be nice if it works as then you still have the same bench rotation.

Feels like Ime just starts Grant, and keeps the rotation intact (except moving everyone's minutes up). He did it against Miami. His MO is not to change.

Think Ime even said during the preseason he doesn't like to change lineups much.
