Is it Stein Time?  Willy-Cauley is a FA, why not?  Otherwise, not much out there according to RealGM.

Jabari Parker again, least he has experience in the organization.

So does Grant start or does DWhite start with Tatum to the 4 and Al to the 5?

I suffered a torn meniscus paddle boarding, I didn’t realize it till after as well when it started really hurting. I could still walk and do stuff, just any type of articulation of the knee joint really hurt. I just let it heal up, took a couple of months. Obviously with Rob being a pro athlete they will probably repair it. Im guessing he will be out for a few weeks  :-\

Alhough Embiid played through a torn meniscus if I remember correctly. All depends how stable the knee feels and how much it hurts.

Grant starts - Al to the 5. It may also mean a little more reliance on the 3 ball so maybe Hauser or Stauskas get a real chance - though I doubt it.  I think this injury hurts the offense more than the defense, though playing Philadelphia or Milwaukee will be a problem without Rob as another guy to throw at Embid and Giannis.

The thought of Brooklyn in the first round is a lot scarier now.  Maybe dropping a couple of games won't be so bad.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Yeah, I'm just fine with the 3rd or 4th seed.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Heartbroken. I just hope it is small like Embiid. We shall see.  :'( :'( :'(

Whatever causes the least amount of overall disruption to the teams defensive scheme. If GWill starts he will probably be the one defending the main screener which is usually the opposition big, with Al moving to defend one of the wings in the corner and providing the help at the rim.

Alternatively they could just slot in Theis as a like for like swap and keep the bench rotation the same. Theis is a decent shot blocker, he won’t scare offenses as much as Timelord but he can protect the rim adequately enough.

I think it’s unlikely they bring in White to start given he’s the combo guard/wing that comes in when JT sits and helps with ball handling. But stranger things have happened.

Also it’s tempting to immediately look at who’s available outside but even if Brad signs someone it’s going to be for insurance if someone gets injured. None of these outside candidates are going to slot seamlessly into our system to replace Timelord because we need a certain type of player to do that and none of them really fit the bill.

I agree Grant will start, but I would like to see Theis with the rest of the starters occasionally.  We haven't seen that lineup yet (this year at least, I'd be surprised if it didn't happen a few years ago), but he can play the 5 on offense and 4 on defense in a similar (albeit not as good) way that TL could.  Having someone in the dunker spot with the rest of the starters has really helped make that offense work.  With Grant it becomes more of a 5-out offense.

I think Theis will get a lot of run with the starters. But this why I say Williams injury will hurt the offense more than the defense. Theis can give you plenty of what RW gives you defensively save for the shot blocking - but he can't finish very well. I'd say he's below average at the rim for guys his size.

But as far as rotations and plugging up the lane, he may be even a little better than Rob.

I might look at Zeller, thought he was older, wanted someone with something in the tank, maybe below 30.

Unfortunately this is the reality of the league…other teams are missing players, AD is out, Simmons, Curry…it’s going to be a good test of how much resilience our team has to be able to absorb this setback. I think Ime has worked to have as many interchangeable pieces as possible in the event of someone getting hurt.

In a way were fortunate that the injury happened in a position where we have some decent depth in GWill and Theis. The one guy who is really indispensable to us is Tatum…our changes take a huge nosedive if he gets hurt.

Unpopular opinion: if we had to choose a starter to lose for some time, Timelord might be the safest. We need a healthy Al against Giannis and Embiid. Brown and Tatum are out offensive engine. Smart is our DPOY.

That said really hope it’s a few weeks of time off and he can come back for Rd 2.

At least it’s not an ACL .  Trying to be optimistic,he is young ,  maybe he can return by second round playoff.   If we can get that far.

I wish Brown hadn’t been traded away for this very reason .   We need the energy of a young guy or pogo stick .

I will say ,  now without Rob ,  we need to avoid Nets long as possible .  I honestly thought with Rob healthy we are the better team .
