As much as I've enjoyed the resurgence of this Celtics team, I've been ready for playoff basketball for about a month now. Sick of the regular season.

Obviously they'll never change the duration of the season for financial reasons, but I personally don't know anyone who wants the season to be this long. 60 Games MAX.

I'm okay with 82 because I think it's an additional challenge for players to make it through.

60 isn't enough games.  82 is fine.

I like it for at least some result of comparison between players. Obviously we could switch to comparing things per possession or per 36 but it is still kind of cool to have all time record holders. The nfl has basically ruined this with their 17th game. If they switched to 60 the all time record holders would basically be frozen in place forever.

I enjoy the length because it adds the element of resiliency to the season. Teams can make total turnarounds (see: Mavericks, Celtics, and Pelicans this year) because they stick with it.

Love it.  I watch every Celtic game, and am much happier on game days then off days.  (except right after losses)

How pathetic is that??!!

I’m fine with 82.  You could probably shorten it to 78 by having teams only play 3 games each against their intra-conference, non-division opponents if you wanted to shave a few games, but dropping the number of games dramatically would be disappointing.

I’m right there with you, and am that way even with the summer Celtics.

I’m with both of you.  Days of Celtics games are like a jolt of caffeine in the morning.  I’m a little bummed there’s only a dozen regular season games left.   I enjoy the spring/summer but I go pretty much sportsless from when the Cs are done till Summer League and then the Pats. No baseball or hockey (or other sports). It’s probably good to have a break from sports watching.

If timezones allowed I would probably be this way too. I'm probably more fanatical about my team in our national sport down here, but not being able to watch a lot of C's games due to work or class is probably the only thing stopping me :P

I fully agree with you. It's just way too much. Just play every team twice, to a total of 58 games.
And also make it a best-of-five series in the playoffs. That would limit a lot of basically redundant games.
Less is more.

I'm with both of you.  I watch every Celtic game.  I use to have season tickets for 25 years for the Bullets/Wizards and hated when I couldn't watch the Celtics live because I was watching the Wizards in person.  I also enjoy the summer Celtics.

I feel exactly the same. I am usually in my most approachable mood for those couple hours before tip-off
