Some intrigue near the top of the draft given the wide ranging mocks on players like Gardner and Thibedeaux.  I've seen both of them projected as high as #2 and both outside the top 10, which is a crazy range.  I've seen mocks with the 1st QB going to Pittsburgh at 20 and others with the first QB at 6 (sometimes by Carolina, sometimes via trade).  Should be a very interesting top 10 tonight, which of course could alter the rest of the 1st round as teams start moving up to get players that have fallen.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I think what it highlights is that, while this draft is deep in certain positions, it isn't a super strong draft overall. For example, last year it was clear that 4-5 QBs would go in the first round (there were a few that thought Mac would slip out of the 1st round).

If true, I think it makes trading back harder for the Pats -- they can only trade back if there are willing trade partners that want to move up, and that only happens if there are really good players that drop. Put differently, it is the type of draft that one wants to trade back in, but, since pretty much everyone feels that way, its going to be harder to do.

What I really want from all you knowledgeable college football people is a feasible wish list that would provide me with players that you think would be great picks for NE, would be surprises if they fell to the Pats, are your dream scenario draft picks.

In other words, tell me what/who to root for tonight to fall to (get picked by NE) to help make the watch tolerable or maybe even a little exciting.  FWIW -- I'd love them to get some O-line help (immediate starter caliber), a WR who could be a #1, and a high-level corner.

All 4 of these guys are almost certainly gone before 21, but my dream scenario Pats would include:
1. Jordan Davis (DT)
2. Derek Stingley (CB)
3. Jameson Williams (WR)
4. Chris Olave (WR)

I think that's a great list to watch for players that the Pats would be psyched if they fell to them, and potentially are all players the Pats could trade up for.

There are several LBs that have been tied to the Pats:
Devin Lloyd (lots of mock drafts have him for the Pats)
Quay Walker (been shooting up mock draft boards in the last week)
Nakobe Dean

Thanks to you both for the names.  Gives me something to watch for -- appreciate it!

Gotta go with Dean or Booth Jr., and I'd be really happy with either.

Terrible trade. The Ravens got the same thing for Hollywood Brown, and he isn't nearly as good as AJ Brown.

With all the insane WR contracts now, seems teams are willing to let go of guys close to when they are due their next extension lol

Agreed. I was at dinner just now with a Giants fan and he is over the moon.

Yes, also hence the run at WR early in the draft.
