The Celtics are playing historically good basketball even by Celtics standards, as the wins against the Kings and 76ers are the 2nd and 5th (tied) most lopsided wins in team history.  And the Jayson-Jaylen-Smart core was also in place for the team record 56-point demolishing of Chicago in January 2019.

They have five wins of at least 30 points.  I’ve been trying to find out the record for most 30-point wins in a season, but haven’t been able to locate it.  I figure the team must be close.  And it’s crazy those 5 wins have come in the last 11 games (and 12 games ago the Celtics won by *only* 29).

Momentum is a real thing.  Thank the scheduling gods, I guess, because each successive patsy we played gave the team more and more confidence.  For whatever reason, the team is no longer playing down to the level of its competition.

Let's hope the all star break doesn't stunt it too much.

The Celtics took control of the game from the jump, racing out to an 11-2 lead before Philadelphia called a timeout.  They never let go from there. Tuesday night was the fourth straight road game that the Celtics have never trailed. That is 192 minutes of road basketball and the Celtics have led every single on of those minutes.

From CBS Boston.  This is an insane stat.

THe energy level of this team from wire to wire in these games is a thing of beauty. They showed flashes earlier but would just let up. Now they are playing peddle to the metal. Credit to Ime for getting them here.

Even crazier, the road game before that, the Celtics took a 3-2 lead against the Pelicans at the 11:11 mark in the first quarter and led the rest of the way.  The C's haven't trailed on the road since Willy Hernangomez hit two free throws to open a game, 239 minutes of road basketball ago.  5 of the 9 wins in this streak have been wire-to-wire.

This is probably a little tangential, but:

Since Jan. 23, when Marcus Smart came back from health and safety protocols, the Celtics defense has been 11.3 points per 100 possessions better than the second-best defense.

I don’t care about level of competition — that’s a ridiculous pace to be on for 12 games.

this team is really on a roll…you just have to credit the entire basketball operations side of the organization.

If we're talking crazy stats - from ESPN Stats and Info:

Last night, The Celtics made 25 3-pointers vs the Sixers. The Sixers made 23 field goals total.

This is the first time in the 3-point era (since 1979-80) that a team made more 3-point FG in a game than their opponent had total FG.

History was actually made last night

There isn't an obvious weak spot in this group.

What are you even scheming for, if you're an opposing offense?  You can burn Jaylen with off-ball movement from time to time.  Quick guards can beat Grant off the dribble (better be ready for Rob hunting your ass once you get a foot in the paint, though).

Once you get past our top eight things get a little clearer.  Pritchard is a constant source of poor rotations in addition to being undersized, and Nesmith fouls a lot.  But when we're healthy, those guys don't see much time.  Our top eight is just rock solid defensively, and the best part is that they've clearly started taking pride in it.

The Celtics are historically hot, no doubt.  I remember the SAC game, there was a lot of clowning around on the bench towards the end of the blowout.  Against PHI, it seemed to be more all business.  I think that is good, important.

The Celtics will cool off, they are not THIS good.  They are going to have to grind out some games down the stretch to keep this going.  Even tonight (against DET) maybe with potentially Smart and RWill out, and tired in the second of a back to back.

I feel Ime has the right temperament to coach them to not get too up from this historic success.  Certainly enjoy it (while it lasts), but stay focused, stay humble, keep working every night.

oh man, that is insane.  It is really crazy that it has never happened in the 3 point era.
