I know they are getting the chunky Partying teddy bear James, but that roster looks uncabable of beating the Celtics in a 7 game series.

Doc Rivers has tears in his eyes we beat them so bad. Seth Curry was a big part of the heart and guts of that team and James is a weird guy it might go well it probably goes bad.

Tobias Harris,  I know why they were trying to dump him with Simmons.  He's cooked. Thybulle? Garbage. Maxey, who I do like, looked like a midget guarding Jaylen Brown.

Danny Green?  Please.  Embiid had to work so hard getting fouled every two minutes to score 19 points I think.  That team is going be  brutal to watch with Joel and James needing to get fouled to compete in big games.

The Grant Williams for Thybulle trade on draft day is looking like a good one for the Celtics more and more this year. That's after the C's swindling the Sixers in the Tatum for Fultz deal. Imma thinking Morey won't be calling up Brad on draft day anytime soon, given the history.

And yes, I know the guys that made those trades aren't around anymore so don't @ me. Just saying is all.

I’m 50% with you, KG LL, but I definitely can see a future where Embiid and Harden run approx 750 PNR sets a game and score about 150 points per game from the field and line combined - and I don’t want to watch any team deal with that, let alone the Celtics.

I'm willing to bet against it. If Kyrie is allowed to play full time I like that Nets roster a lot better.

Entirely possible. But between Qyrie and Ben Simmons I think the Nets are just as likely to have Patty Mills as their best ball handler for any games that matter for the rest of the season and post-season.

And I enjoy Patty Mills, but that’s not a recipe for winning basketball if you’re Brooklyn.

They probably need buy out guys more than just about any team in the league. Obviously they didn’t have harden tonight, but you do see them currently relying on a lot of guys that just cant be on the floor in playoff basketball. Fork will be targeted relentlessly if he is on the floor and does not do enough offense to even attempt to offset it. Reed, bassey, Millsap are all completely unplayable, even if only for ten minutes. I don’t think green can play more than spor minutes at this point in his career. It’s just a lot of holes. I know everyone says stars matter but I think we have seen depth matter more the last few postseasons.

Another thing we'll miss from the Ainge era

Annual fleecing of the 76ers

Im willing to bet if the Sixers could redo draft as well they'd take Brown over Simmons.

C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark

The Nets deal will prove to be a horrible deal for them. Honestly, I’m shocked Morey did it.

I think that one worked out fine for both teams.  Philly loves Thybulle, and we love Grant.

It depends on how you look at it.

If Philly determined that the bridge with Simmons was completely burnt -- which appears to be the case -- then for purposes of this year the trade was Curry + Drummond for Harden + Milsap.  If you look at the trade as attempting to maximize championship hopes this season -- when the league is completely wide open -- then it probably makes some sense.  I think it makes them better for 2022 compared to what they were.

Of course, that's a bad way to GM.  I've got to think that they could have packaged Simmons + two #1s for something quite useful, while keeping Curry.  Could they have gotten Haliburton and Barnes for Simmons and two first rounders.  I suspect so.  And, going forward, I would certainly prefer Haliburton + Barnes + Curry + Drummond over Harden.

Well Harden is no spring chicken , and already to the age where the energy starts evaporating for defense intensity,  can’t bring it like the 22 year olds , see Lebron , who barely reacts to defense except the last 5-10 minutes of a game if the game is close and he thinks they can win , otherwise he stands and watch’s .  All energy used or offense ….good way to avoid injuries.

Maybe he can shoot, but his body type is not the Ray Allen or Reggie Miller , it will be a struggle if he continues to pork out at his age.  He s a fat boy waiting to happen .

So…yeah it’s about a win now situation for a few years while Embiid still has a working back and knees to support that monster frame.

They have a 2-3 year range to keep Embiid , he either ages super quick or gets mad and signs with Lakers or Heat …..pressure is really on Philly to win now , they could be looking at another five years of tanking again , if Embiid goes down.   Their load is shot .

They traded 2 people in their rotation, including a starter, and because Harden hasn't played they didn't replace them.  Take a starter and a rotation player off of any team and don't replace them and it will affect you.  When Harden plays, he will make a lot of this better.  He just changes the whole dynamic of the team because of his not just his scoring, but with his play making as well.  They are far more likely to win the championship this year than Boston is given the talent they have at the top of the roster.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Brown will be on the floor playing good ball, while Embiid sits in his house watching games with a broken body .
