Watching the game tonight, coupled with these continued reports on harden, I think the 76ers may have made a franchise altering mistake not getting haliburton and keeping curry and Drummond and picks. Maybe harden and Embid will have perfect harmony and blow past the bucks, us, the heat and nets and then beat the sun or warriors but I just don’t see that happening.
I'm way more scared of BKN - they absolutely fleeced PHI in the deal...especially since Harden was likely walking in a couple of months.
I think long-run Brooklyn is better off, but I'm less concerned about them this season. They've dug a big hole for themselves and the way the seedings are sorting out will:
1) Have to beat Toronto at home without Kyrie, or play a second game, also at home without Kyrie
2) Have to win at Toronto without Kyrie, or play a second game, at home without Kyre.
3) Drop down to 9, need to win two games, at least one of which will be without Kyrie.
Getting through the play-in, which won't be a cinch, leaves them as the 7 or 8 seed. Not a fun 7 or 8 seed to play, but it's just plain harder to advance far in the playoffs from that position.
It seems unlikely they're going to climb back into the top 6. There's too little time, and Durant is still weeks away from returning.
