Old freind crazy Tyreke reinstated today after a long ban from the NBA. Dude was 20 ppg 5 rpg and 5 apg in his second year.

Still very productive his second to last year before ban. Does he deserve a second chance? I hear we have room.

Feel like there is not much history of guys missing two years in their 30’s and coming back and being productive. Surprised he didn’t go to Europe or China for money.

I think his time may have come and gone.  Good luck.  I doubt he signs with the Cs.

There's also not much of a history of guys getting 2 year drug suspensions in their prime years either. It's not accurate to compare him to players that missed a couple of years due to injury or to just plain sucking.

He was on his 7th team (including repeats) and averaged 10 points a game.  I don’t think he was in his prime.

I had no idea he'd been out of the league for two years, nor that he'd been suspended.

our bench Rotation is so tight right now. Payton has hit one 3 in 2 games. I really him to step up, I still think we need one more guy. where is Parket at? we have waived and signed him back to many times :o

Tested positive for “drugs of abuse,” which includes "amphetamine and its analogs, which include methamphetamine; cocaine; LSD; opiates, including heroin, codeine and morphine; and PCP."

Apparently Chris Andersen came back from similar charges, OJ Mayo did not.

If the choice is between (1) Evans, (2) some random undrafted player, or (3) no one, then I'd take the flyer on Evans.  Certainly would be far down the list of choices, but better than just some random guy or no one.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

And we've seen a guy this year come back from 2 years off as a result of injury and play just fine for the 2nd best team in the league (at least record wise).

I think there are a fair number of random guys who could offer a fair bit more than Tyreke.  People are just remembering his good October-December 2017.  Once the calendar turned to 2018, he was the regular Tyreke, shooting under 35% from 3, chucking up a bunch of long 2s, and being generally inefficient.  That carried over to the following year, his last in the NBA, when he put up a sub-Smartian .483 TS%, a 1.5:1 assist-to-turnover ratio, and meh defense.  That was at age 29.  Fast forward 3 years, now he's 32, having not played organized basketball in 34 months.  There are G-Leaguers who are more ready, more worthy, and better.  I'm sure of that.

That is true.  I didn't realize that Klay Thompson was 32 years old.  All you can ask is that the Celtics do their due diligence on Evans and I am sure they will (or likely already have).  I think it is unlikely we see Evans in green but who knows.
