Derrick white had 36.5 mx vertical leap and third best 35.5 standing vertical and 2nd in three-quarter sprint he has a 6-7.5wingspan For comparisons Donovan Mitchell came in first had no standing vertical 36.5 and first in three quarter
sprint..
When i watched a defensive tape from pros it showed some blocks that were surprising. I thought it was timing but it was explained with his standing vertical being in 99th percentile historically at combine and was in 97th percentile in three quarter sprint.

White's reach can definitely surprise you.  He has a few highlights where he switches onto a big underneath the rim (a no-win situation for most guards) and blocks their shot because they expect to be able to just lay the ball in over his head.  Doesn't work out that way.  This guy will go up and erase those.

He does it in a different way than Smart (who is just an immovable cinderblock for anybody with a higher center of gravity than him) but we have a couple of the best guards in the league at switching onto bigger players.  This will be a fun defense to watch.

This is the biggest reason to be excited about these trades. That defense we've seen from the starters in the past few weeks can now be played for 48 minutes, against a bigger team or a smaller one. Theis also helps because he's one of the few bigs in the league that can play that way too. With Grant Williams, the C's now have a great 8 man defensive rotation that won't let up.
