What a big overpay for Harden. You give them Simmons with a shooter. Aren’t these two teams in the same conference if not division?

Somewhat tongue in cheek
Simmons has serious mental health issues and might not help BKN this year, barring an amazing recovery.
BKN has taken a significant risk here and wanted to be compensated for that.
On the other hand, PHI has acquired an injured player, hopefully Harden will be healed soon.

If healthy come playoff time, Harden taking shots at st the end of the game with Embiid beasting will be a much tougher out vs last year. No Simmons to shrink in big playoff games and weak FT percentage .

What is the over under for when Simmons demands another trade - Him and Kyrie are destined for disaster.

I would say this trade is huge for Sixers. Best 1-2 punch in league now?

We know one thing for sure, Harden isn't going to be afraid to take a wide open layup because he doesn't want to get fouled. If James is engaged and in shape, he's going to open up things for Embiid even more.

Given Embiid's injury history, they Philly has to go for it now while he's playing at an MVP level. I don't see him having a lengthy career, they can't afford to waste a year of his prime.

Ben quit on the team and refused to play for them. He was a depreciating asset they had to move. To get an All-NBA former MVP who wants to play for you and has positive a relationship with the GM is a good move.

Both teams definitely got better but I don't think either trade makes them better then the Heat or Bucks.  Philly should definitely be right there for a finals appearance though.

The Celtics also got better and the best defense in the league is even better and even more equipped to close out games on D with Smart and White.  Wow those two are going to shut down some guards.

You can't really disagree that a playing Harden is better than literally nothing.

Cuz that's what Bimmons' contribution has been. LITERALLY.

Court chemistry not a thing anymore? I like the trade for both teams, what comes of it is yet to be determined.

Seth Curry is not a throw-in….he is one of the best three point shooters in the league.

wait is this serious?

no, trading the Nets a guy who hasn't played since the time he had an epic playoff choke on national television almost a year ago is not "handing Brooklyn the keys to the title"

I think it’s a better trade for Brooklyn.  The trade may have been worth it even if it didn’t include Simmons but included everything else.  Philly better hope Harden has been totally dogging it all year because this trade sucks for them if Harden has actually lost a step like it appears that he may have.  Brooklyn got a lot of helpful pieces from Philly.  Brooklyn has gone from 100% imploded to having a lot of weapons not to mention the future considerations.  Not to mention now Philly is on the hook for the small fortune they will pay the quitting fat man.

I'm interested to see how Harden plays with Embiid. Harden had bad chemistry with Dwight Howard. He struggled to play off of Dwight's post ups and wanted to (over)dribble the ball all the time.

He didn't have great chemistry with CP3 either. Or Westbrook but that is more understandable. A lot of injuries so hard to say about Kyrie & Durant but Harden did want out in the end.

So yeah, I am looking forward to see how Harden does with Embiid. And vice versa. Both are guys who are used to the offense revolving around them. Now they have to share.

I think Nets win this trade..Got a very good player in Simmons, one of best three point shooter in Curry, got Drummond who could start for probably 24 teams & 2 firsts.. Harden, Harris & Embiid can’t win a title
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Well, it's not like Harden has a very good history of play in big playoff games. He has shrunk in the moment a whole bunch of times in the playoffs.
