I’d love to see Joe Harris in green! He was also teammates with the Js and Smart in Team USA right?

Horford & Smart for Collins & Bogdan?? Works in trade machine

I wouldn't do it personally

Why?

It would hurt this year, but long term leave us in a better situation.

Yeah long term I could see it. Personally, I like Collins and his age certainly fits the youth timeline, but I also think fans overrate him.

I have to imagine too that in a trade like that, the C's may have to give up 1 or even 2 future 1st rounders

I would add a #1, gladly.

Some folks think it would hurt to lose Smart, but he'd be replaced by Bogs, who is a really nice player.

Last year the guy was amazing.  16.4 points / 3.6 rebounds / 3.3 assists / 43.8% 3PT% / 90.9% FT% / .602 eFG% / .616 TS%

I feel like he's the SG version of Hayward.
Last year was very much an outlier of a year for him shooting wise. He is currently having a shooting and scoring year that is more in line with what he usually shoots 42/36/80 with a TS% of 54.4%.

While that's very average, it's still better than Smart, though Smart is better in every other aspect of the game. I would probably still make the trade, but I wouldn't expect Bogs to have shooting years like last year. Years like this year is what should be expected.

The truth is somewhere in between.  This year is his worst shooting year.  His career averages are:  44% / 38.5% / 81.5%, .536 eFG% / .560 TS%

Those numbers are above average for a shooter.
It's his 2nd worst shooting year, not worst, and that's out of 5 seasons. Without his amazing year last year boosting his averages, a year like this one is more in line with what to expect. All you have to do is look at his other 4 years besides last year to see that:

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/bogdabo01.html

His year last year was significantly better than any other year in every single shooting metric. Remove it, and he is a very average shooter.

Sorry if I'm late on this, but one I just saw on Twitter was:

"Sources: Another deal that has been discussed is a three-team trade that would send Dennis Schröder to the Lakers, Cam Reddish to the Celtics, and Talen Horton-Tucker and a 2nd-round pick to the Knicks. - @ChrisRobertsNBA"

Personally, I like Cam so wouldn't mind this at all!

I’m up and down on Reddish, but for that price (Schröder and maybe a 2nd), I’d be in on it.  Although I’d also say there’s a good chance Romeo beats Reddish out for the minutes.  Reddish’ net rating and on-off are abominable for being on teams hovering around .500.  Will Udoka be the coach to get through to him where three others (four going back to Duke) haven’t?

I love the randos on Twitter making stuff up.

Chris Roberts also says:

Quote
Hearing the Celtics are keen on upgrading their roster today. They believe they have a real shot at winning the Eastern Conference and agree the best way to do that is to trade Dennis Schröder. The Bucks are in deep talks with the Celtics centered around Donte DiVincenzo.

Quote
Sources: Other teams that Celtics have had discussions with are the Nets for Joe Harris and the Knicks for Cam Reddish. These talks have been preliminary but could lead somewhere in the coming hours. A James Harden trade could be a huge factor.

Quote
The Lakers and Knicks have had discussions on a trade revolving around Cam Reddish and Russell Westbrook, per source.

Lol at those rumors (although the DiVincenzo rumor has been going around so he just repeated it).  Reddish for Westbrook.  Yes, that’s definitely a deal that makes sense for both teams.  If the Knicks trade $40 million of salary in the form of usable players, but don’t include Reddish, deals off.

True-shooting+ measures the difference between his shooting and the league average, where 100 is league average.  His career number is 100.  His five seasons have been 100, 95, 100, 108, and 97.  His career efG+ is 102.  He's been a league average shooter four years out of five.  Last year was the outlier.

A .560 TS% is average for a guard?

Among our perimeter players, only Brown (.568 TS%) and Richardson (.570 TS%) are averaging that this year.

I mean, I guess if you lump him in with centers who play two feet from the basket it probably skews things, but as a perimeter player .560 TS% is good.

So Bogdan would be our starting point guard in this scenario? I don’t like that.

That we have bad shooting guards doesn’t mean that Bogs is a good shooter.  His 3P+ was between 108, 101, 104, 120, and 104.  Slightly above league average four years out of five, but that includes bigs who are shooting it from deep and oughtn’t be.  Honestly, Bogs’ career year at 28 is why I want to trade Josh Richardson before his shooting reverts to its career norms as well.

Wouldn't it be Schroder with Bogdan off the bench?

His spot on the roster, not his starting spot.

Presumably Schroder would be the starter, with Richardson taking on more ball-handling duties as well.

Next year,  we have to have a competition on CS. Everyone starts a trade rumor and whoever gets retweeted/quoted/etc. the most wins. Double points if you get described as an expert or insider.

I have a feeling the Schroder for Divincenzo trade is gonna happen. Though Donte isn’t really injured, he’s also not at 100%.

Donte?  Bird rights and restricted free agency.
