The best thing about this trade is Haliburton won't spend the best years of his careen in a continually mismanaged franchise.  I don't think Haliburton will top out as a fringe all-star (2nd or 3rd best player on a contender), like Sabonis, but he'll at least play somewhere he'll be appreciated and give him a chance to make the POs.

With a bench including Mitchell, Lamb, Harkless, Bagley, Len

That isn't bad.  They end up more balanced.  We will see how good Haliburton ends up but they already have Fox and Mitchell so I understand why SAC was willing to give him up.  SAC is far more balanced with Sabonis.  Indy ends up a hot mess.  Maybe Haliburton is a star in the making.  Indy better hope so.

I would rather have Sabonis and Holiday over Haliburton and Hield (Lamb and Thompson are both immaterial).  I understand why Indy is blowing it up, taking a chance on a promising young player, but I grade this as a win for SAC.

What a classically stupid, knee-jerk Kings move.

What in earth are they doing trading Haliburton? And for a guy who -- granted is a nice player, but -- has already achieved his ceiling as a 2nd to 3rd fiddle guy? They had exactly one player with star potential. One guy truly blossoming this year. A guy they likely would have controlled for many many years to come. They just traded him for no reason.

To make matters worse, they now have to find a home for Richaun Holmes, who they only just resigned. He and Sabonis are an awful fit. And / or.... they need to do something with Harrison Barnes, who at this point in his career is a PF, and only a PF.

The Pacers must be be pinching themselves tonite. Another great trade for them.

Not thrilled to have Haliburton in the Eastern Conference.

David Lee was a 2-time NBA All-Star and was selected to the All-NBA Third Team in 2013. He was good in a short window.

Sabonis is BY FAR the best player in that trade, at least right now.  Maybe Haliburton some day passes him up, but it isn't right now and it won't be next year either.

 Yes. He was dubbed as the absolute man. Looked very good at Duke. Now he's avg 9ppg 7rpg in his fourth year on a terrible team.

I like Sabonis as your 3rd best player but if you are building around him like he is your best player you got a tough road ahead of you.

Ditto for Fox. Not a pretty future ahead for Sac-town.
