NEW YORK – Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball and San Antonio Spurs guard Dejounte Murray have been named by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver as injury replacements for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game. Ball will replace injured Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant and Murray will replace injured Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green. In addition, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, who was selected as an All-Star reserve, will replace Durant as a starter.

None of this is surprising, but congrats to Tatum for making the starting lineup.  The real question is who’s next in the pecking order for the game from the East, in the event of more injuries?  I think it should be Jarrett Allen followed by Jaylen.  Will there be two more Eastern conference replacements needed, giving JB a good chance to reach his incentive?

Tatum should just sit this one out. You remember what happened last time when he participated...had a nagging injury the rest of the season and got derailed.

It depends on who gets injured.  Spoelstra is lobbying for Jimmy Butler, and Sabonis is an option as well.

Butler is already a reserve.  Do you mean Bam?

So for all those doubters, Tatum is clearly a top 12 player this year with this announcement and conversely Brown is not a top 25 player.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Congrats to Andrew Wiggins on having a career year and all, but Jaylen is better.

Are the starters the top 12 players?

Is the All-Star team a ranking of the top 25?

Are you suggesting that Anthony Davis isn’t top 25?

Oh good, I am happy LaMelo got there. He deserves it. Plus he will be phenomenal in ASG setting. Maybe an outside shot at MVP if he gets hot from 3.

I wouldn't have picked Dejounte Murray. He doesn't deserve to be there. He is a stat padder on a bad team.

All-Star doesn't really prove (or disprove) either of these contentions, but whatever

So that means Andrew Wiggins is better than Jaylen Brown?

James Harden is going to miss the all-star game.  Who will be his replacement?

Jaylen has to be high on the list, right?  I'm not sure where our tax situation stands if he does participate.  Others who will obviously be considered:  Pascal Siakim, Jarrett Allen, Jrue Holiday

People seem to think it's between Jaylen/Siakam or Jarrett Allen.
I gotta think of those 3 Jaylen gets the nod.

Why JB over Siakim?

I think Siakim is probably having a slightly better year.
