Why are the Bucks dumping him though?

It tells me that they might not be as optimistic of a solid return from the injuiry for them to dump a guy who averaged 10 PPG last year.

The biggest answer is the Bucks traded for and extended Grayson Allen this off-season, while Pat Connaughton moved into Divincenzo’s role on offense. The Bucks are already going to have tax issues keeping Portis and Connaughton this summer, and with a shrunken role while working himself back, DiVincenzo is expendable this year and likely won’t be around next year.  Further, DiVincenzo’s salary is the perfect size to bring back a player who signed the taxpayer MLE this summer.

They aren't dumping him. They may be willing to part ways with him for the right price cause

1. He's become kinda expendable after the emergence of Grayson Allen and the return of Wesley Matthews.
2. He's about to get paid.
3. Realistically, he's probably their most intriguing trade asset. If they make a meaningful trade, he's likely the odd man out.

If I am Milwaukee, I have no interest in Schroder.

I believe he'd be a bad fit on their team. Schroder reminds me of Bledsoe and the problems Bledsoe (dodgy) had next to Giannis (terrible shooter). Furthermore, Schroder already had big problems performing next to LeBron due to Schroder's inability to be effective without the ball and Giannis will require Schroder to play a good chunk off the ball as well.

You gotta have shooters next to Giannis. Not drivers / slashers / two point shooters. You gotta open up that paint for Giannis. And you gotta have guys who are comfortable off the ball. Not guys who are only effective on the ball.

I see.

Anyone else rather have   Pat Connaughton?  He is a local product and always kills the C's?   I realize he is on the block

I would. He's more of a proven player. I like Divincenzo and hope he regains his form but Connaughton could help this year.

If it was for Divi the deal would probably be done.  He's a good fit for this team.  I'm sure teams are low balling the cs because Dennis is just a rental
Is it actually lowballing if Schroeder is just a rental?

I think a team in contention this year would be fine with a rental and maybe even prefer it. Schroeder is a good pick-up for a contender. Like Tucker was last year.

I agree I just don't think they are offering much at the moment for Dennis.  It was widely known he'd most likely be dealt.  Teams see the C's just over the tax line and Dennis is a rental.  I can't see the Bucks offering DiVincenzo if they plan on resigning him.  If he's not in the long term plans then maybe they do it. For the C's they get a look at a player that may fit next to the J's.  Maybe he can be their Huerter at a cheaper price.

I'd gamble on DiVincenzo.

He was a good player, still young and his struggles are a result of his recovery from his injury.

I feel like we should keep DS if all we get back is some 2nd round pick.

But if the trade is for Divincenzo I might go for that.  Div is still returning to form after his injury.  We all know how bad some of the C’s players have looked coming back from major injuries GH for example.  It isn’t completly fair to base the appraisal of Divincenzo on how he looks right now.  He showed a lot for the Bucks before he got hurt.  We also need shooters!  I don’t care how much he overlaps with Jaylen or whomever, we need to raise the shooting ability on the C’s.

Yep, I read it's off the table, but that is common tactic, during trades to call the other team's bluff.

Reportedly the negotiations went like this:

Boston: Schröder for DiVincenzo?
Milwaukee: DiVincenzo for Grant Williams.
Boston: Not a chance.  But if you want Grant, make a serious offer.

An even more common tactic?  Writers at fringe websites making crap rumors up, lol.
