With the report out we have two offers on the table for Dennis.  One is the Bulls with Brown and the other I couldn't find fir the Bucks. The only player I'd consider is Dante who's taken a step back this year with Grayson Allen shooting 40% from three and Dante shooting 28%.

Hes in the final year of his contract but he might fit in well here. Good defender, athletic.  Schroder could really help the Bucks in their bid to repeat.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Makes sense if MIL really doesn't want to spend in order to re-sign Donte. We keep talking about these trash deals for Schroder, but he is actually a really good player. No need to give up anything extra if this deal is available.

Donte just came from a major injury right? Hopefully there are no red flags there. He’s been playing limited minutes.

If it was for Divi the deal would probably be done.  He's a good fit for this team.  I'm sure teams are low balling the cs because Dennis is just a rental

I wouldn't want to help the Bucks and as much as I like DiVincenzo he doesn't look right.

You can't be petty to be a good GM. If Dante makes us better long term you make the trade. No worries about the Bucks.

It'd be low. For sure.

This would make the C’s worse. DiVincenzo has been terrible this season. 31% from the field, 27% from 3pt. Averaging 7pts and 3rebs per game...
Pass.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

DiVincenzo is working his way back from a terrible injury last playoffs.  The question in acquiring him would be whether he could regain the form last season when he looked like a keeper for the Bucks.  He hasn’t in his month or so back, which included a Covid interruption.  It’s not about how he’s looked coming back while everyone else is in midseason form.  It’s about how he might look in 6-8 weeks, and then going forward from there as a restricted free agent.

If he were all they way back right now, you wouldn’t hear him being mentioned.  But wind back the clock a season, and the Bucks wouldn’t consider trading him for Schröder.

Goldstar, have you seem Dante in top form the last couple of years? He's a good player.  If we could resign him on a fair deal it might be worth the gamble.

When both guys are healthy, Schroder is a still the better player. Also, C’s have plenty of depth at the SG spot, not so much at PG.

I have a soft spot for the Bucks and I follow them just as much as I follow the C's (especially this season that the C's underperform). I wouldn't do it for the Bucks. They need to surround Giannis with floor spacers, not slashers. I'd do it in a heartbeat for the Celtics. Donte isn't 100% ready yet, but he'll likely find his old self sooner or later.

If I were the Bucks, I'd be looking to trade Donte for Mo Bamba. Brook Lopez is out indefinitely after a back surgery. The Bucks were running a drop scheme on defense with Brook. They now run hedge and recover in the absence of Brook. Acquiring a rim protector would allow them to run a drop scheme once again with Giannis operating like a free safety.

Giannis is the best help defender in the NBA. He's everywhere at the same time thanks to his elite physical tools/athleticism. If the Bucks wanna maximize his defensive impact, they gotta pair him with a rim protector. Likewise, if they wanna maximize his offensive impact, they gotta pair him with a stretch 5. Bamba ticks all the boxes.

Why are the Bucks dumping him though?

It tells me that they might not be as optimistic of a solid return from the injuiry for them to dump a guy who averaged 10 PPG last year.
