I know it’s Orlando, but the C’s defense has been incredible lately.
it's not just orlando. the celtics have played some of the best defense in the nba for weeks now.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Our defense is elite level stifling and our ball movement has improved. If we can add a shooter to help take the pressure off Brown and Tatum we're going to be a tough out come playoff time.

Had one of our gross outside shooting nights through three quarters, but that couldn’t overcome how Orlando Magic the Orlando Magic are.

Five in a row, with a decent shot for six against the freefalling Nets coming up.  Keep winning!

Schroder was awesome tonight. And as we get to the deadline I wonder if losing his offensive spark plug is a really bad idea…

The Celtics have wins of 29, 30, 33, and 53 points in the last 8 games.  Say what you want about the competition, that’s elite.

watched on tape delay.  tonight's hot takes:
- Defense was incredible.  Magic stink but that defense would have given any team fits.
- found myself constantly yelling at my TV "stop taking 3's!!!"  team is absolutely pig-headed in its determination to chuck 3's regardless of how they're shooting
- team had great success going to the basket.  they need to incorporate more drives and easy 2's into their offense
- deep bench didn't stink it up at the end.  Romeo looked good.
- Jaylen's dunk was unreal.  Bamba's claim to fame at the end of his career will be at the guy Jaylen dunked on.

I'd rather lose him for nothing this summer than give him away just to get under the luxury tax. I don't buy the rumors that we're desperate to move him for financial reasons. If a team comes with a good offer that helps us next year and beyond then ok, otherwise sayonara.

Yeah, Bruno Fernando and PJ Dozier are also expirings, but they don’t actually help the team.  Moving them shouldn’t be difficult and would solve financial problems.

This ^…..was my thought as well…..unless a true significant acquisition for him can be gained ,  it might be better for the cohesive effect of team spirit to just let his gig play out .   I would hate to think trading him off for a worse asset , when other moves could be made to save money might have a negative effect on the team just when they seem to be making a positive push .

I’ve done a 180 in the last couple of days, and I now think they need DS for the rest of this season and the playoffs more than they need an asset later on.

Schroeder or no Schroeder, we are not winning the title this season and that's the only criteria to consider regarding personnel moves.
If we can acquire an asset that improves our future chances at a banner, then make that move.

I wish JB would stop settling for 3.  He's getting great shots when he's going to the rim.

+1
Just need to be more aware of how we are playing / shooting.
Starters are 3/20 from 3.  Why keep doing stuff that isn’t working

But that's half of his game guys.

Part of the reason he blasts past his defenders is because they gotta keep him honest on the 3 point line.

He's shooting 35% anyway so it's not like he's putrid.

I agree typically JB is a good 3 point shooter.  One of our best.  But tonight he is 1/8.  Is that going to somehow change for tonight and he will hit his next 5?   If you are off on your 3 point shot, look to score in other ways.  JB isn’t the worst offender because he is taking the ball to the hole.  But still there is a thing about understanding that your 3 ball isn’t falling and adjust.  It varies from game to game.

Every single shooter, in the history of the NBA, says that you gotta keep shooting. "The next one is going in".

That applies to very good shooters only, not bad to mediocre like our guys who keep jacking up what are bad shots for them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if Jaylen isn't in the All-star game we only need to get rid of 900,000$ to get under the tax.

Celtics and Nets are now essentially tied in the standings

This is only our 4th time in 15 games where we've shot below .300 from 3 and won. We have a terrible record in these games where we don't shoot well (our starting 5 shot 4-25). Probably against any other team than the Magic it would have been a loss but the fact that we still came out with a comfortable win is a big achievement for this team - being able to win while shooting poorly in an offensive league.

Of course, it probably also helped that the Magic shot 5-26 for 19%  :police:
