This guy seems like an ultimate empty stats guy. I’d pass. His stats haven’t really translated to any sort of increase in winning.

I can't argue but he'd be the 3rd guy here.... His PER is 18 just behind TIMELORD at 22, Tatum at 20, and Jaylen at 18.8. He'd have the 4th best PER on our roster. I'm not a huge fan but he'd be a talent upgrade.

Yeah, I think he's being undervalued. He's a 20 point a game scorer and he can play some defense. He'd be a good fit between the Js.

He still needs time to figure out how to play play & win in this league. He could still be a few years away from figuring that out (if he figures that out).

I’ve never been an Ingram fan either, and not really sure why. Physically he’s a bit like Tatum so where do you play him?  Ideally, I want Jaylen Brown to the the #3 guy so I’d want to add somebody better than Ingram.

Ideally, I agree but if you can get Ingram for Horford's contract and picks I think you do it.

I think you are very much undervaluing both Ingram and Brown. Ingram is kinda Tatum lite, except he moves the ball well and has the game come to him rather than forcing his offensive game. In Ime's defense, I think he could be a high end defender surrounded by the Jays and Timelord. A perfect #3 guy.

And Brown, he is a top notch #2 guy on almost any team in this league and the #1 guy on a whole bunch. Relegating him to a #3 option would be a major mistake in my book.

The more I look at it the more I like Smart, Brown, Ingram, Tatum, TIMELORD starting 5. I don't think the Pels are ready to go back to square one but they should. They traded Holiday already. It's a really good two way squad. I don't think a trade will happen but that would be a good one.

never been impressed by Ingram.  while he'd be a talent upgrade over Horford and Romeo, I don't see him 3-first-round-picks better.  just doesn't seem to contribute to winning basketball despite the stats

Send Horford and Romeo and 3 1sts 2022, 2024, 2026 for Brandon Ingram. I haven't been a big fan of Ingram but the thought of Smart, Brown, Ingram, Tatum, TIMELORD starting unit does seem like an offensive/defensive powerhouse.

I feel like even with hypothetical trades you have to look at it from the other teams point of view.

The New Orleans Pelicans don’t have Zion at the moment, so Brandon Ingram is their only attraction for fan support…if you trade him, there needs to be a star coming back to New Orleans.

Ingram is 24 years old (25 in September) an all-star, who is averaging 22 points 6 rebounds and 5 assists, with decent percentages considering how much of an offensive load he carries.

Ingram isn’t an upcoming free agent, nor has he indicated he wants to leave. He has never had a solid roster around him, so there is definitely room for improvement to his output.

Horford is 36 and heavily declining, he’s only got one more year on his contract before he’s a free agent. Romeo Langford has show nothing to suggest he’s more then a solid all round nba player and the Celtics future picks would be well outside the lottery.

I love your outside the box thinking but New Orleans is only moving Brandon Ingram for someone like Jaylen Brown.

I love Brown and do think Ingram is a very good talent, but I'm not undervaluing them. I just don't think a Smart, Brown, Ingram, Tatum, TIMELORD starting 5 as suggested by Liam is winning a championship.  It has no top-5 player and maybe one top-15 player.

I mean to go with PhoSita's argument, adding Ingram might help Tatum/Brown play like top 10 players or whatever.

You won't have Schroeder shooting you in the foot every possession and f***ing things up for Tatum and Brown lol, or Al Horford being gassed - and instead have an actual floor stretcher in Ingram

If you can get upgrade to Brandon Ingram and it only costs you Horford, Langford, and some future 1st round picks, you have to do it.  Even if Ingram isn't the best fit or doesn't work out, the talent upgrade is worth it, as you can then always move one of the 3 for a better fitting piece down the line.

My adjusted trade is The Pels send Willy Hernangomez, Brandon Ingram, and Josh Hart to Boston and the Pelicans send 3 1st round picks, Smart, Horford, Bruno, and Romeo.  This is a bigger version of my original trade. I think puts the Pels in full rebuild mode, where they should be, and puts The Celtics into win-now mode where they should be. Works in trade machine...
