The Rockets get our 2022 unprotected first as well.

Rockets in: Robert Williams + JRich + BOS 2022 unprotected first
Celtics in: Christian Wood

Why for the Rockets:
Timelord is 2 years younger than Wood. He's one of the best rim runners in the NBA. He's on a team friendly contract till 2026 whereas Wood will hit free agency in 2023. The Rockets also get an unprotected first-round pick.

Why for the Celtics:
They are an underachieving team. They might decide to shake things up. Wood would become their 3rd option on offense behind Tatum and Brown.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm very high on Christian Wood. He's long and athletic. He can stretch the floor. He can set picks on the perimeter and either roll hard to the basket or pop for 3. He's a terrific rebounder. He can protect the rim. He can switch ball screens on the perimeter. He can even put the ball on the floor and create his own shot! His only weakness is his court vision, but we'd be using him off the ball. I reckon he's good enough to be the 3rd option on a championship team.

Not sure that trade is legal. It's  a simultaneous trade situation and because of that you can't trade back to the Celtics basically what they traded to you.

Also, Timelord has a poison pill provision which I don't think you are taking into consideration, which might nullify this trade

I think. Maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps others with more cap knowledge could educate us on this.

So, for purposes of the poll, I say "E. The NBA." 😉😁

I edited the OP. This one works. I included the confirmation from the trade machine.

My bad. Should have done the math prior to posting.

Wood’s a good target. Keep Timelord. Trade anyone other than him, Tatum or Brown to get Wood.

I think this trade undervalues Rob.

I think so too.  As much as I appreciate big Al...and he has had great stretches this year...if we need to get rid or Timelord or Al, I would keep Timelord.  It feels like Al is a year away from a really steep drop off.  But obviously Rockets don't want Al.
