Congrats to Ime on coach of the month. Well deserved.

This team is playing really well defensively and if he gets buy-in on his offensive system while giving Tatum room to flex his skills... the ceiling for this team is championship.

Well if Ime gets fired, the Nets fans want him for their coach.

Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

I went through this thread and was pleased to find that I was rational throughout it.  I know I started to lose faith after the Portland game, but was able to keep my thoughts to myself apparently (which was good, because the season turned around the very next game).

I think that most of the blog was in the right place.  71% were taking a measured approach, having some worries but agreeing that he hadn't had enough time.

Team is playing great, but lets win #18 before we crown him.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Thought Ime was thoroughly out coached by Kidd in todays game. Grant was horrible on both ends all game and Udoka refused to put Theis in. Mavs were breaking down the C’s defense in the 2nd half and they were getting wide open shots. Ime waited Till there was 6 mins to go in the game to put Smart and Horford back in and Rob didn’t go in until there was only 3mins left. He needs to be better than that.
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

This is ridiculous, first off, because Kidd couldn't out coach the dog in my avatar and that dog has been dead 5 years.

Second, sometimes stuff happens. Like:

The refs overturning the foul on Smart with a rule no one has ever heard of before

Grant had a bad game. It happens.

Tatum was shut down for the first in a month. It happens.

The team shot 23% from three. It happens.

A decent at best player in Finney-Smith got red hot in the 2nd half. It happens.

The Celtics lost to the 2nd best defensive team in the league. It happens.

This loss wasn't an Udoka loss. It was a team loss. Lots went wrong and the Celtics still should have had a chance to push it to OT while playing the 2nd hottest team in the league.

Sometimes you try hard but the other team does too and they come out with the W. You tip your hat and say great game and move on.

Exactly. The Mavs masterfully stumped Tatum. It was close. We’ll get ‘em next time if there is a next time with them.

I'm not worried because the NBA will tell us that it was a bad call in the two-minute report.  ;D

They stumped Ime because he made no adjustment. The playoffs are all about adjustments.

Ime has coached the hottest team with the best defense of 2022. Mavs have possibly the best player in the game in Luka. We did good. Ime did good. We’ll be fine come playoffs. Kidd is a joke. Whoever is the assistant coach coming up with the brilliant defense should get the credit for stumping Tatum.

We won't see Kidd in the playoffs but we need to be able to adjust to the other team's game plans. This game was winnable and we didn't adjust.

More than 95% of playoff adjustments come between games not in games. This game was too close to make an adjustment out of the regular game plan.
