On a positive note - wouldn't it be great if we are witnessing the blossoming of a star in Rob Williams ?

Hey guys

How good is Brown.

Its been lost in the early mess of a season, but it sure looked like Jaylen had gone next level once again to start the season, it was a shame that got interrupted. He may be just now playing his way back to that.

I think he's going to end up being the alpha for this team. It takes reps to be an effective reliable #1 scorer, and they should start giving more of those reps to him. Tatum is very skilled, but it always looks like he has to do more work, that Brown just goes past people so much more easily.

I think he's just getting started.

Jokes on you, he will call into work sick when he has a bad match up.

This is why I've bought into Mr. Agneta's #JKJB.

Jaylen's progression every single season, has been INSANE.

Never seen something like this before. And if you disregard injuries and "getting back in shape" games, he's been improving even more, since.

I love this guy.

When healthy this year, JB's been our best and most consistent player as well as the one most included in stupid CStrong trades. Throwing out the 5 games he played when he he came back too early, his TS% is 63.5%, which is remarkable for a 2/3, and regardless of playing injured, he has the highest defensive +/- according to our broadcasters/Dick Light.

Only on Celticsblog where you see people constantly belittle their players despite them playing well. Is it any wonder why people are leaving this site?

That is not unique to CelticsBlog. Try being a Dolphins/Tua fan.

Great game from Jaylen and Rob, especially. The steal into unassisted fast break and finish is impressive from a center. Rob also confidently put the ball on the floor for a 1-2 dribble move to shoot and pass, which are glimpses of things that he can replicate against most opponents.

Rob is 24, in his 1st year playing 20+ minutes, and signed to a 4 year extension that he’s going to be outperform. He can protect the rim and guard the perimeter at a level few 5s can, has elite athleticism, is an elite finisher, and will be stronger as he matures and become even more of a menace on the boards.

I hope he gets there quickly. If RW3, Langford, Nesmith, and Pritchard mature into what I think they can be, this will be as balanced, deep, and versatile a roster as there is in the NBA (alongside the Suns). If the team results improve with him, he’s a mainstay along with our core. if the team results stagnate, he’s a valuable trade piece. This team is never going to entertain a full rebuild with Tatum and Brown

Number of participants on game threads has gotten lower.  What's up with that?

I've frequented it less for two reasons:

1. I'm watching less Celtics because they are often not fun to watch.
2. I don't like the negativity that piles on when the Celtics are already not fun to watch.

I have a more prosaic reason: I am currently traveling and don’t want to pay $2 a game for league pass. Yes I’m cheap
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Pretty much. Not surprised Cs fans are fawning after his performance the other night though against G league players.

He did what good players are supposed to do when they have an advantage at their position. He might not have been quite at the level of dominance, but he was pretty close.

Ime in his postgame says that he tells our guys to "not get bored with what made us successful"

I think that's a really, really strong quote. You can tell our guys aren't consistent, and they're keen to take the burden of making "the winning play" upon themselves instead of playing as a team.

Kinda a good way of phrasing it. Trust the playbook. Both on O and D. And don't give up on it.

The ability to stay mentally focused and keep doing all the things needed for a team to play good basketball is probably twice as difficult as the physical ability to do the same. It takes real mental toughness and an inner commitment to winning.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Yup. This is why we see them flash great basketball, and then fall back into old habits. Doesn't help that those habits had some time to wear in during a faux championship run. Be hard to get them out. Hence why you give coach more than half a season worth of games before you judge 'm. Hence why you allow the team to come into its own before you start the fire sale.

Because they don’t like a dose of realism? I mean, I want Williams to do well but think you need to call a spade a spade. He did what he was supposed to against incredibly inferior competition. His performance on the other hand does no anoint  lhim as a great player though. He’s nothing more than a role player who can’t stay healthy. It’s ok to say that.
