Gouki, I can't believe you are drawing this meaningless joke out. Lighten up.

We were both being facetious. Good Lord.

I’m a bit concerned with Ime. You guys think he could handle the pressure of being a head coach? It’s too early to judge but it feels like he “froze” when things didn’t go the C’s way. And he was looking way to reserved when the calls were favoring the raptors. What happened to “let me worry about the refs”?

TOs and more TOs...25 are too many.  Especially when you are shooting under 40%

Got home, turned on Gamecast, Saw the Score, Went to Kitchen and mixed a Crown,

What happened ?

Biggest issues were turnovers and inability to rebound.  Add that to questionable rotations from Ime and getting outplayed and you have a 30 point blowout.

Outcoached two games in a row Ime.  I don't want excuses, you have NBA coaching experience.  Do better.

i think the turnovers and rebounding woes were mere symptoms of more grievous concerns. i wholeheartedly agree coaching is one of the larger issues, along with a serious lack of effort.

the c’s were straight up manhandled by a much less talented team tonight and the c’s didn’t show any fight or give-a-[dang]. turnovers and rebounding can be corrected. the problems the c’s are demonstrating are much tougher to cure…and they’re not new to this group of players. new season, new coach, new gm, same result. the j’s are the constant and their status/potential is in serious doubt.

Man, maybe this is jumping the gun, but this team just feels so hopeless. Like there's nothing to look forward to. Used to love watch Celtics games the past 5 or so years, but now it's getting to the point where it's not even fun.
I stopped watching them during the 2nd half of the season beause they were just ticking me off with the way they were playing. So far I'm not seeing that things are a whole lot different this sesaon. They did make a nice comeback the other night but tonight was just more of what we saw a year ago.

However it is early and they have a crap team next so I'm not going to jump to conclusions - tempting as it is to do so.

Yeah I don't think Ime Udoka is a good coach. Sounds like these are the Celtics of last season

I thought Tatum and Brown were way over the top with enthusiasm when Ime was named Coach.

They are not playing any harder for him than they did for Brad.

I hate to jump to conclusions but I think it’s going to be a long year. I do hope if they’re going to suck, they at least play the young guys. At least that might be entertaining. Tonight’s game was not only bad, but it was boring.

Have to admit, I’m not a fan of the Celtics being used as a training ground for a new coach to cut his teeth.  It worked with Stevens because we were a rebuilding team at that time, learning right along with him.  I don’t know if “tanking” is the right term for what we were doing then, but we also weren’t expecting a playoff run.  But this team has higher expectations than that.

I’m watching a team that struggles to create offensive opportunities, then loses its energy as shots keep clanking.  The other team unlocking their offense in transition off of our misses is becoming a trend.  Our lineups are often ineffective, and we seem to have no identity outside of hoping for individual brilliance from one of the Jays.

This is a long season, and we’re just getting started.  But we have a lot of work to do.

good observation and very true.

i’ve never seen the necessary killer instinct from either J. all the greats had it: bird, magic, jordan, kobe, lebron, kg, paul, duncan, et al. if the J’s want to be great, they need a killer’s mentality. i don’t think either one has it or can develop it, which is why i’m not sold on either J. they’re incredibly talented but too soft to be truly great. as a lifelong C’s fan, it sucks but it’s true.

I just hope maybe this horrendous game was due to fatigue from their D/O game on Wednesday. I don't want to think more game like this will be the norm.

tonight's hot takes:
- glad to have Al back.  only one that looked good on the floor tonight.
- first game showed some heart fighting to get back into the game.  tonight, no fight at all.
- had serious concerns with our PG rotation of Smart, Schroder and Pritchard.  haven't seen anything so far to allay those concerns
- suspected that the team would have major problems winning any night that either Brown or Tatum weren't having a good shooting game since there's no one else on the roster that's a legit threat to put up 20 points.  this game pointed that out drastically
- small ball with Grant as the 5 is not a viable option when the other team is playing a legit-sized PF and C that are crashing the boards.  just cannot use that.  what's the deal with not using the bigs on the bench when Grant isn't cutting it as a center?
- Ime seems to be in over his head right now.  hope this is just a blip but if he doesn't get it together soon, I think he needs to go in favor of a coach that's a bit more of a hard-ass to push this team to play well and play hard.
- Houston should be an easy win but I'm not so certain at this point.  if C's are struggling going into the trade deadline, C's need to be sellers and jettison the vet players for assets - preferably creating some cap space and acquiring picks.  Richardson, Schroder and especially Smart will hopefully bring some decent returns from teams looking to improve for a playoff run.

But the Celtics felt sooooo good for being progressive and hiring one of the long-ignored black assistants in the league.
Please don't tell me we hired this guy to fall in line politically.
