A lot of Randle’s offense I can live with.  The only thing I didn’t like was when Grant let him get to his left hand on the drive a few times.  Remember your scouting report and move your feet.  Defense has been good otherwise.  Kemba and Barrett have been largely invisible.

I like the shots our offense is generating but we have to hit more of them.  Hopefully those makes near the end of the half will unlock Tatum, because we need him.  Doubt Jaylen has the wind for a repeat performance in the second half, though I’d love to be wrong.  Would like to get Schroder going too.

We could've used Josh Richardson to defend Rose.

Randle kept pushing Grant off with no call.

C's played a lot of really small ball that half, Tatum was out there with like 4 guys 6'6 or shorter around him for a couple stretches.

the c's went cold for a stretch at the end, but I didn't hate the offense. Bigger problem was the lack of a true 4 to defend Randle. Horford would have helped.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Gave away a nice lead with bad offense.

I thought it was Tatum missing shots. 3-10.

Yeah, if Tatum plays even average the rest of the way, we will run away with this thing. The Knicks are a good team - we are in a good spot, despite the 2nd quarter struggles.

11 turnovers that half and a lot of missed wide open looks.  Clean up the TO's and we'll be in good shape.

Tatum needs to take it to the hole when his shot isn't falling. The Knicks will foul the hell out of him and he'll get to the line!

Forgot about that (to be fair I'm half following in the morning of a work day where I am).

Feels good that Romy/Nesmith aren't disastrous. Keep improving my younglings.

I don't really blame Randle for that though.  He is going to get away with as much as he can.  Grant was also being a little too passive, just letting Randle get to his spots.  Even if Randle is pushing, Grant is a big boy too.  He just needs to play better def and play the scheme better.  Direct him away from where he wants to naturally go.

Celtics FG - 48.8% 3PT 8 for 21
Knicks FG - 43.2% 3PT 6 for 19

Benches
Celtics 38 minutes 11 points
Knicks 42 minutes 13 points

Romeo 3 for 3 - 8 points I won't mention the three turnovers
C's have had everyone except the sweat mop guy try and guard Randle (7 for 13 - 22 pts)
Schroder is trying to find his way with his new team.

The Knicks don't look that good - 8 assists vs Celtic's 14 assists

I never seem to catch any good Nesmith offensive games, especially shooting-wise. When I turn on the tube he's always clanking 3's. Saw one where he's driving to the hoop a lot I guess. Hustle is always there though.

Not really.  The one play where Randle backed Grant all the way under the basket had some extra elbow, but all-stars get away with that.  For the most part Randle has just been playing good, physical basketball and making some tough shots.  Credit to him.

Agree with the other poster. Ime gotta slap some sense into Grant and wake him up, just defend Randle's left come on guy.

He was rushing his shots today so far.  Bad body balance on at least 2-3 of his shots.  No one can be a good shooter when they don't have their feet under them.  I think he will be fine, he is just pressing.

Yep. I think he's trying to feel his way into being a primary playmaker as well as scorer. He'll find that balance but he hasn't tonight.
