I heard Gorman say pretty confidently this morning that if Horford isn’t vaccinated now, he’ll be vaccinated by the first game at Toronto.  That likely means a shot today.

As for Jaylen it would be a shame for him to miss games because of this. I really find it amazing that he hasn’t vaccinated. Risk Covid and it’s complications (again) but not risk the vaccine.  Freedom, his choice, but one that would be costly and one that might change people’s opinion of him.

only sure way to find out is if the C's have to play Toronto and someone can't get into Canada.  Stupid gamble on the part of that player (if there is one)

I believe that today is the last day a player would be able to take the vaccine to guarantee that they're eligible for a Game 3 in Toronto.

To be considered fully vaccinated in Canada, one must be two weeks past a single shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or two weeks past the second shot of the two-dose vaccines. ]

Robert Williams ramping up rehab in Boston amid Celtics road trip: ‘Look forward to having him back sooner than later’

Robert Williams is just one week removed from surgery on his left knee for a torn meniscus but his workouts have progressed considerably according to Celtics head coach Ime Udoka.

“Immediately pretty much started the mobility, flexibility standpoint, and then weight-bearing and different exercises as far as that,” Udoka said. “Two-a-days will ramp up pretty quickly.”

The Celtics originally released a 4-to-6 week recovery timetable from Williams’ surgery last Wednesday, which would project him returning during the second round of the East playoffs if Boston advances that far.

However, Udoka refused to rule out the possibility of a first round postseason appearance for the athletic big man amid multiple reports that Williams’ recovery could be a bit faster than the team-released timeline.

Great news! The Celtics have to have a healthy Rob to play the best lineup in the NBA this postseason. Rob unlocks the two big lineup like no one in the league can. Glad to hear he’s progressing as fast he has, sounds like he might be ready during the 1st round.

That is a lot to digest but one more general take away is that if we lose to MIL, then we are pretty much out of the running for the 2 seed (not entirely, but pretty much).  Since the 2 seed is where we MIGHT see BKN in the first round, this would not necessarily be a bad thing.

And if we lose to both CHI and MIL, we are pretty much relegated to the 4 seed.  So we could "rest" for these two games and then play hard against MEM to try and establish some positive momentum for the playoffs as the 4 seed (no BKN in the first round).

If on the other hand we can win in CHI and more importantly in MIL, then we are well positioned for the 2 seed.  Then come the MEM game, we may have the 2 seed locked or if not, but if all else fails, we can beat MEM and be the 2 seed.  Of course you still probably won't know for sure where BKN is going to end up making it very hard to game the standings.  It is possible that BKN will have lost their way out of a possible 7 seed (then we would want to win and get the 2 seed) but there is no way to know for sure they will be the 7 seed.

My bottom line, play hard and try to beat CHI.  If we lose, then "rest" everyone against MIL but play full strength against MEM.  If we beat CHI, go at MIL like it was game 7.

Since you don't know where BKN is going to end up, I still feel the best scenario is to have the 2 seed with BKN either the 8 seed or not getting out of the play in.  That is good for momentum and good for the general mojo of the team.

The worst thing to me would be to lose some games kind of on purpose only to have BKN fall out and have it be for nothing.  I recognize that this is partly superstitious but I truly believe that it is dangerous to mess around with your mojo going into the playoffs.  If we were a more veteran team, I might be less concerned, expecting the veteran team to be more able to "flip the switch".  I don't want to take that risk with this team.

I believe we lost to MIA partly because of the hangover from the mess in TOR.  We played one of our worst games in a while.  Now MIA may have had something to do with us playing badly but to me, that was all the evidence I need to prove you don't want to mess with mojo, especially right before the playoffs.

"Resting" players in the second of a back to back is one thing.  Resting players against CHI tonight is something altogether different.  I do not want to see the Celtics concede the game to CHI in any way, shape or form.
