Good news on D White. Ime said in the postgame interview that he got a stinger and could have gone back into the game. Phew...

Udoka also said that Nesmith will be re-evaluated tomorrow, but definitely had a good amount of swelling.

Yeah, it looked like White hurt his funny bone.  I’m still annoyed at the refs not calling the obvious charge he took while already in obvious pain.

I thought it was wild that the team went multiple possessions without calling a timeout.  White was still out there, with him arm hanging at his side.

I think it was all live action until Ime called the timeout, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, if White's arm was so bad, he was still able to foul someone to get off the court if he thought it to be seriously injured. Derrick had plenty of opportunities to do so.

Play stopped after 4-5 possessions when the ball finally went out of bounds.  It was a pretty frenetic lace at that point in the game.

Over the last 10 games Marcus Smart is averaging 14.8pts, 6.1ast, 3.3reb, while shooting 42.7% from the field and 39.3% from 3pt.  He’s been really solid..

His per-36 numbers are getting into Chauncey Billups range.

He might have finally turned the corner that he's teased us with for years now. If he can maintain that for the rest of the season his contract suddenly becomes very reasonable.

Horford has been playing well lately. Last 10 games: 11pts, 8.3reb, 3.6ast, 2blk, while shooting 52.7% from the field, 40.5% from 3pt and 85.7% from the line.  He’s only attempting 8.6 shots per game, which is the lowest amount since his rookie year. Wish Ime would look to him inside more often, especially when Smart and White are combining for 10 shot attempts from 3pt each game...

I'd be slightly careful about being happy that his shooting has turned the corner - looking at the Detroit game through to the Atlanta game and he was still only shooting 34% from deep in that stretch. Getting hot against Memphis while shooting so little in general has warped that sample size, I would argue.

During 10 games in February he shot 33.3% from deep too. I do not want Horford taking more shots by design, only if they're open.

i think "bad smart" emerges when he thinks he has to lead the team on offense instead of supporting others and taking shots when they are given to him. with injuries to the team he took on that role too often.

Udoka has done a great job of redesigning the offense so that smart no longer has to think he is the leader on offense. as a result we get more "good smart" which is a player who is both good and smart.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I do want him taking more shots...from inside the Arc where he’s shooting 57%. Al is good in the paint and from midrange. White and Smart taking 10 attempts from 3pt is not a good strategy.

I agree about that. Getting Al involved in the high post as a passer or mid-range shooter would lead to pretty good looks. That big-to-big lob from Al to Timelord was awesome.

But we need to complement that with shooting. Having Al focus on the interior is good in a vacuum. But Tatum and Brown have been scoring really well inside, Timelord only really operates inside the key, and as you say White and Smart are not good shooters. The defence very quickly can shrink the court then. Hopefully Stauskas can address this to an extent.

Fingers crossed that he plays. Get some ankle braces, JB!

Ime Udoka says Jaylen Brown is testing out his right ankle sprain pregame to see if he can play today. Swelling has gone down but there will be a bit of pain tolerance.

Aaron Nesmith had more significant swelling and will “be out for a longer period of time, for sure.”@JaredWeissNBA

The Celtics say Jaylen Brown is available for today's game against the Nets.
