Like the idea of Buddy for a Smart kind of swap but think team structure is a thing. I mean things as in a defender or more offense at the position. Don't see any need for another big unless Kanter, Grant or Juancho are absolutely included. I currently like things as constructed if Ime does the proper rotations, though I dislike BS' moves it truly fits a philosophy.

Schro/PP=Offense
Smart/Josh=Defense
Brown/Nesmith/Langford=Energy
Tatum/Parker=Offense
Horford/TL=Defense

If we get these guys as the main rotations things fit from a next guy up stand point.

I'd like a framework of Smart for Hield instead of Schroder
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

If OKC was willing to give us these seven first-round picks and two first-round swaps straight-up for JT, would you pull the trigger:

2022   1   -   DET (Currently projected as 1-9)
2023   1   -   OKC (Swap - BOS gets top pick)
2024   1   -   OKC (Swap - BOS gets top pick)
2024   1   -   HOU
2025   1   -   HOU or LAC (Swap, get best)
2025   1   -   OKC
2026   1   -   OKC
2026   1   -   HOU
2026   1   -   LAC

What if in the 2022 and 2023 off-seasons we also moved all of our contracts such that we move JB (and more) for the first overall pick in 2022, and still have 2023 free agency space for Jokic and 2024 free agency space for either Ja Morant or Zion Williamson, whichever one does a one-and-done in 2023-2024? Surely with two of these three young marque free agents and all of these picks, we can build a Big 3 with depth and win big in a few years?

Let’s face it: JT/JB is not working out and it may be time to consider cashing in these chips to rebuild better…

So let's trade Tatum for nine picks hoping one of them turns out as good as Tatum?

More like let’s move Tatum and Brown for a ton of quality, cost-controlled picks and free agency space for when Jokic hits the market. Jokic is definitely better than Tatum and possibly better than JT/JB combined. Hand Jokic the keys to being the dominant New England sports player and bet he takes it, especially with so many first-round picks to bring in and free agency space for another marquee signing in 2024.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that JT/JB are not bringing us a banner and can’t really trust them to stay Celtics for life like Pierce. Personally think JT is gone to LA first opportunity he gets…

When is the last time a MVP joined a team to play with a bunch of future draft picks?

We’re geographically located closest to his home country, and we’ll be the biggest market with space available so he can supplement himself with marketing $’s. Keep in mind that the scenario has us moving JB and more to get the top pick in 2022, so the last time an MVP joined a number one overall pick was LeBron/Kyrie/Cleveland.

Yes move Brown for even more draft picks will certainly lead to a MVP level player looking for a better chance to win a title to the team.

If we draft the top overall player in 2022, that should be a great player to help attract Jokic. Jokic should also be attracted to us telling him we have space for any buddy he wants from the 2023 or 2024 free agent class. Having an elite player on a cost-controlled rookie contract is literally the only way to achieve a Big 3 with depth nowadays…

I’m just thinking outside the box instead of continued participation in this mass delusion that JT/JB are a good combo when they’re clearly not. We’re near the bottom of the rankings in the East. Our options are limited. Perhaps OKC’s treasure haul is our ticket to rebuilding. They’ve clearly added all these picks so they can make a mega trade like this for a superstar…

So trade Tatum for a bunch of picks in the hope for another player as good as Tatum gets fed up and demands a trade to a better situation?

And that situation is the Celtics who just traded away their all star level players for more draft picks then they can use?

But don't worry.  A MVP level big man is going to sign there because of draft picks and the city is closer to the Atlantic ocean.

Can’t be any worse than being 12 of 15 in the East, can it?

We suck with JT/JB and it’s just a matter of time before the league figures this out and we’re lucky to get most anything of value for them…

Did the season end and the Celtics finish 12th in the East, which would give them an excellent shot of landing next year's #1 pick, and I missed the whole season?

Dang, perhaps I should change my username to RipVanWinkle and stop taking long naps.
