I was hoping for Jabari to hit the game winner. I mean, they did put the ball in his hands. Too bad the way that last possession ended up.

It looked lazy and half a step slow in the transition. Not to mention how Hauser doesn't close out tighter when there is literally no time left. The guy is not going to drive on him right there.

Went to the game tonight with $6 ($10 after fees) 1st row corner balcony seats. I knew what I was getting myself into with everybody out, but still pretty fun to watch our bench guys get some burn. I know preseason is insignificant, but we could have had at least one guy who will make the team out there to help finish things off.

Really liked Nesmith tonight (obviously). Romeo had his moments, but was too easily blocked on some of his shots. Pinson was surprising - would be a nice addition for the 2nd two-way. Parker can still barely move - not sure you can have a team with both Kanter and Parker defensively.

Yeah, on offense, Romeo’s biggest problem might be that he can’t make anything beyond a pretty simple read when he has the ball. He can get by his man but then doesn’t see the help or jumps into a defender when he has a pass available.

I think Pinson isn’t eligible for the second 2 way. That said, the battle for #15 may very well be between him and Jabari.

Didn’t take much else from this game, tbh.

I think he has a very high upside and is flying under the radar. Reminds me a lot of early Klay Thompson. Not a natural distributor but athleticism and shooting skill can help compensate for that.  Once opposing teams figure out how well he can shoot they will try to close out more and he will get opportunities to drive and dish. With the right players around him he could really punish opposing defenses and take some pressure off the Jays.

Houser is a pretty bad defender, but it didn't help that Jabari stuck with his man rather than collapsing on the shooter.  There was almost no time left and executing a pass in that situation would have likely resulted in the clock expiring before the shot.  The shooter made the correct decision to take the shot himself against a lousy defender.

he seemed like a ball hog and cared more about his shot than was healthy for the team. he forced the offense too often.

but, in all fairness, he is fighting for what may be his nba career, so he might have calculated that being passive and invisible is the wrong approach. i can understand that.
