Dinwiddie coming up with some big shots as the Mavs pull ahead.

You earned a tommy point for that call. I didn’t see it coming and was wrong. Incredible shooting from Dallas and Utah seems to really just fold up in the face of adversity (as we also saw with their 40 point loss earlier).

Haha, thanks. TP for the game discussion. The Jazz are still going to be tough to close out tonight, this one aint over.

I have noticed the mavericks have completely benched Bertans and green this half which they needed to do. Those guys can’t be in a playoff rotation.

Yeah, Bertans has been awful all season long. You can't play guys like that in a closeout playoff game.

Can they survive with a 7 man playoff rotation? None of their important players very old. This would help then a lot.

Is there a better story line for the NBA finals than Jayson Tatum versus Luka Doncic?

Having experienced Nick Nurse stepping inbounds to trick one of our guys into passing to him, coaches that employ cheap tricks will forever be a pet peeve of mine.

If I had to guess, TV execs are salivating at the thought of a Celtics-Warriors Finals.

Bertrans and Green only played 2 min apiece and Powell only played 11 so they won that game with 6.5 rotation.  However they need Paul to come up small in the series to have a chance to beat the Suns.  Assuming health, I think Suns in 5.

Yeah Booker didn’t look full strength tonight, but should be better with a few days rest. I would say the suns just have so many more good players. It probably goes, doncic, Paul, Booker, Brunson, ayton, bridges dfs then crowder before you get to the crap guys. Also even though he is not super aggressive ayton should destroy powell and kleber. Pretty big advantage there.

Bertans has been very inconsistent shooting all year (and that is his only real strength).  It seems like Kidd puts him out there to see if his shot is falling and if it is he goes with him like game 3 when he was 4 of 7 from 3 or when it isn't like last night he doesn't play much.

I'm sure Ayton will get some boards as his shear size will be a factor.  Ayton didn't play the Mavs in the regular season with Porzingis being on the floor so it is hard to say how the Mavs will do defensively.  I do think the speed of the defenders could cause Ayton some difficulty as he has struggled with slower faster guys in the past (at least scoring wise).

Ultimately I think the series comes down to how much can Bridges slow Doncic down.  The only time Luka played against the Suns this year (KP and Hardaway were still on the team) he was only 9 of 23 though did finish with 28/8/8.  Over 7 games, I just don't think the Suns will slow Luka down enough.  And I do think the Suns will have difficulty guarding the Doncic/Brunson/Dinwiddie combo collectively.  Paul and Crowder don't have the speed and Booker is a poor defender, such that they won't be able to help Bridges much on Doncic.  Bridges is going to have play all series like the DPOY candidate that he was, and I just don't think he is going to be able to do it.  And on the other end, the Suns being more wing/guard centric also won't help them really capitalize on the Mavs lack of size because for as good as Ayton is, he just isn't that type of scorer (at least not yet).

Mavs in 6.

If the Grizzlies win tonight, there'll be no Game 7s in Round 1. Kinda crazy.

Well I appreciate you going out on a limb with a concrete prediction. If the Mavs somehow win in 6 I’ll give you props. I just don’t see it. Dallas really struggle with a very mediocre jazz team even after luka   Got back. Believe jazz were under .500 last 2.5 months of season
