Good old Evan Fournier with 2 points tonight.

When compared to J Richardson's performance in tonight's Celtics game, money well spent.

You probably lose 3 or 4 points per game in reduced 3pt efficiency, but he probably more than makes up for that with his defence.

Thibs sat his entire starting 5 for the entire 4th quarter...he wasn't happy with them.

“You know what they say. When it’s 10 games, you say we need 20,” Thibodeau said, when asked how long it should take for his starters to find cohesion. “When it’s 20, you say 30, When it’s 30, you say it’s 40. Before you know it, the season’s over. It’s a bunch of bull—t.”

The first unit, sluggish and passive, dug the Knicks (7-5) a 24-point hole. The starters played poorly in the first half and were worse in the third quarter, hearing loud boos from the angry crowd. RJ Barrett posted a minus-28 rating. Julius Randle was minus-26. Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier, who managed just two points apiece, were minus-22. The group settled for long jumpers, didn’t defend the 3-point line and spent too much time watching Randle isolate.

“We didn’t play well. That’s it,” Thibodeau said. “We got to figure it out.”

Thibodeau responded by benching the unit over the final 14:01. In their place, the Rose-led reserves played spirited basketball, rallying the Knicks back to even. They played with energy and intensity, forcing turnovers, moving the ball, flying all over the court. Ultimately, the group ran out of gas and fell short in an avalanche of Bucks’ 3-pointers.

“We try to ease into games, we try to get a feel instead of being aggressive,” Rose said. “A lot of times you have to be the aggressor, let people know you’re there. That’s not only the starting five, that’s the bench coming in playing lackadaisical, like nonchalant. We picked it up late, but that’s everybody. We’re not that good to give people confidence. We got to come out and be the hardest-working team. We got to learn soon.”

I get going with the hot hand, but in typical Thibs fashion he drove them into the ground and lost.  I mean the bench unit came all the way back with like 5 minutes left, but he didn't take a single one out.  The same 5 bench guys played like the last 15 minutes of the game and invariably wore out down the stretch.  Especially since bench units aren't used to playing like that. 

The Knicks have several roster issues, but the biggest one is they have like 1 or 2 plus defenders on the entire roster and their offensive guys aren't elite offensive guys so if they aren't hitting shots at an elite level they have a hard time winning because they can't stop anyone defensively.

So Toronto turns around and beats the Sixers in Philly.  Embiid did not play, but still a nice win for the Raptors (who obviously don't have Siakam yet).

Siakam played last night against us. He was given night off from back to back due to his recent recovery.

Man I can’t figure out the pacers to save my life. They look terrible for like 8 games and then may win back to back on the road against decent teams. I like some of their players (brodgen, turner, sabonis, levert) but they are so inconsistent

I think they’ll be better once Brogdon and Levert start playing together. Injuries have prevented this from happening so far this season. TJ Warren being out also doesn’t help their cause.

The Pacers have a lot of #2 and #3 type players.  So when they are hot at the same time, they can beat anyone, but there are times when them not having a real #1 type player is a real problem for them.  They've also had a bunch of missed games, Brogdon has missed 5, LeVert has missed 8, and of course Warren has yet to play.  If they get everyone healthy they are probably a play-in game type talent team.

Injuries are Pacers downfall..if they get everyone healthy & add a vet or two for the bench, they can be dangerous

I think is largely dependent on how good Thompson is after two years of not playing. Wiseman is pretty irrevelant and may play 12 minutes a game.
