For all the hate he generates, Grayson Allen is legit NBA player.

Hot take.

I’ve always liked Grayson Allen, since watching him at Duke and I was hoping that the C’s would draft him. Has he acted immature in the past, yes. Dude competes, though. He plays hard.

The guy injured Alex Caruso earlier in the season. That guy plays very dirty don’t understand Celticsblogs infatuation with him.
Yeah, he's not "immature". That is an absolutely infantilising way to gloss over his horrible nature.

Nobody has questioned his ability to play basketball. He's just a garbage person

Well, his teammates would disagree with you. Giannis went on and on about Grayson during his postgame interview earlier today.

“He’s humble, he’s hungry, he plays with a chip on his shoulder. Plays hard every single night defensively and offensively. No matter how the game goes, he keeps us accountable. He knows that we need him and he’s a great player. He wants the ball. Wants to be the guy that makes shots and make plays. He’s not scared to make plays. He fits in really well with us.”
What a shock! His current teammate sticks up for him! I really thought Giannis would actually come out and call him scum after Allen dropped 27 ::)

His teammates have liked him everywhere he has been, both in college and pro’s. He’s an irritant like a Draymond Green. GS fans love Green opposing teams hate him, same goes for Grayson Allen.  You can dislike him if you want, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s a good player.

I don't think Draymond Green was ever this dirty like Grayson Allen.

Should have tuned in for the Warriors/Nuggets game.
Green does far less to put opposition players in danger. Allen has no issues with doing that, however.

I hope he has a very brief career.
intentionally taking someone across the face and fingerings their eye is far more dangerous than anything Allen has done and that was just today from draymind.

Draymond did that twice today, too. Once to Jokic in the first half and then again to Gordon in the 4th quarter. It was blatant both times.

Grayson broke a man’s wrist, seriously Celticsblog seems to be the only site that defends Allen’s dirty plays.

It was a hard foul for sure, but Allen was clearly going for the ball and Caruso landed hard. It wasn’t like he was swinging for his head or a non basketball move like Jaxson Hayes the other night. It was excessive, but to make it sound like he was trying to break his wrist is ridiculous.   I think Draymond has had more instances in the NBA, by far.

Maybe the initial action. But his follow-up was completely unnecessary, and given his track history giving him the benefit of the doubt is beyond consideration

It was a hard and excessive foul, but other than that, does he have other incidents in NBA games? I can’t think of any. Speaking of track record, Draymond has an entire “Dirty plays compilation” video on YouTube that is over 10mins long and has 1.6m views. It’s from 3 years ago and Doesn’t even include the recent incidents.  Enough said.

The Hawks literally go as far as Trae Young does. If he struggles they typically lose by a lot lol

Also I know he typically ends up with solid numbers by the end, but Young has far too many of these kinds of games where he'll have like 10 points by the end of 3 quarters, but then heat up a bit in the 4th and get 20+. Problem is, a lot of times by the time they get to the 4th they are trailing by a lot already

Yeah, that’s a video of Allen tripping people in college when he was a teenager. I’m talking about dirty plays in the NBA, as an adult. Green has been doing this stuff for 10+ years  as a pro and his dirty plays are a lot worse than tripping someone. All non-basketball plays. Hitting people in the face kicking guys in the balls. It’s not even comparable.

Trying to absolve Allen of responsibility because he was a 'teenager' (he left Duke in his early 20s) is ludicrous. He also has continued trying to, quite blatantly, trip people up in the NBA.

Again, the tripping stuff was while he was an amateur, in college. It was immature and stupid. He has not done that in the NBA. Green is doing this stuff as a professional and it’s still going on today when he is in his 30’s. Not comparable.

Literally takes 5 seconds to find footage of him trying to trip Trae Young in the NBA. I'm sure there's more.

Oh, the video titled, “Did Grayson Allen trip Trae Young, intentionally?” Lol. That’s a stretch, man. So you have the questionable (at best) video of Allen and young getting tangled up and and the Caruso incident over a 4 year span. Green has dozens and dozens of incidents. He had multiple dirty plays in todays game alone! He legit kicks players in the balls. It’s not comparable.

So Miami, Milwaukee and Philadelphia all up 3-1 in their series

Boston could be the only one that gets a sweep IF they win tomorrow night

Let's sweep them, get some extended rest and hope Chicago forces Game 6 on the Bucks.

I want to get the sweep to get the rest of the league worried about playing the C's as they were about playing the Nets
