Realistically, what has Brad done that you're particularly impressed by?  We acquired Josh Richardson using a trade exception.  What's the Danny Ainge equivalent?  Trading for Jae Crowder, maybe?  We signed Enes Kanter.  We traded for a below-average PF.

I like Brad's trades for the most part, but they've all been pretty incremental.  Our one move of consequence was a salary dump, although I do like that we brought Horford back.  It's not a lot different than Danny giving up a #1 to turn Raef into Radcliff.  Danny was able to turn that move into a key building block in the KG trade.  Will Brad be able to do something as monumental?

I don’t think Ainge would have extended TimeLord or Smart, which I think we’re both solid moves.  Also good with the Richardson extension, but I particularly like the first two.

Stevens has handed out as many extensions this month as Ainge did in about his final decade.

Ainge has become a victim of his own genius.

The sports media created the 'oh yeah?' effect with Ainge, by calling him 'one of the all-time greatest NBA minds' and comparing him to Auerbach & West, they were putting him on a pedestal that is impossible to say upon. Fans of other teams and Ainge contrarians have been all waiting for him to slip up so they can pounce and denounce everything he's achieved.

I think the consensus on this forum is his standards began to slip in 2019, but most forget he had his second heart attack that year. Factor this along with his age and burnout, all lead to the end for Ainge.

Do you know an easy way to tell how much of a genius Ainge was at his job? Go back and look at people's reactions on CelticsBlog/CelticsStrong as soon as he made a move. Most of us were pulling out our hair thinking he was crazy/idiotic, because we could not comprehend what he was doing.

Even though Ainge only has one championship to his name as General Manager, from 2008-2017 the Celtics had a (469-319) win/loss record, second only to the San Antonio Spurs.

No homeruns for Brad, but he's hitting singles all day long and just like that we have a roster that I will guarantee is better than last years.
