I think because it’s been so long since his prime years, people forget just how amazing Rondo was at his best.

You’ve got to remember that his short lived prime was during one of the greatest eras of point guards in NBA history. Nash, Paul, Rose, Williams, Parker, Curry, Westbrook. Not to mention as guards are grouped together in voting, he also had to compete with Bryant, Wade and Harden.

In any other period of NBA history, Rondo would be a multiple time All-NBA player.

I wonder how true that is? Hi man, didn’t every single person in the NBA basically know for a fact that Rondo was a short timer?  I can accept that Thomas was a contingency plan, but not that the Lakers were ever on the verge of signing him.

Agreed completely.  Rondo's lack of shooting ability is the reason he was bounced from team to team, but he surgically breaks down teams on the offensive end, and he almost always knows what the other team is running on defense.  He's out of this world high BBIQ, might be one of the highest IQ players I've ever seen.  I think LeBron likes playing with him because he knows he's always going to be making the right decision.
