I watched him play defense, run the floor and put the ball on the floor.A big strong young guy-that looked comfortable setting screens and handing off the ball.
Did not a big rebound night but very few misses last night.
Kanter will teach him some tricks and Al on how to handle ball.
Bruno knows his calling card is energy off the bench .He certainly looks durable, if he pulls a Marcus going to ground people are going to get hurt
 Is he a keeper?

I think the bar is very high for a traditional center with no shooting range or elite overall skill to even be worth a roster spot in the modern NBA.

Fernando seems like a guy who can be productive in the right situation, he was certainly productive in college, but I think he may be more of an overseas player.

I think he's a good end of the bench energy big. He's the one that hit Romeo for his highlight dunk. He's a bruiser. He might be on the move but he's not a bad guy to have on your roster.

I don’t see any need for a fourth center.

Yeah, that's what it comes down to for me too.

3 centers here already and all 3 are way better than Bruno. We have depth issues at other spots and we need that roster spot to fill them. Bruno needs to leave.

Bruno can slide at the PF, not sure if that's what we would want, but it's there if needed. Hopefully we find better options.

The only reasoning I can think of is if the Celtics think he can become a solid backup center eventually.  Horford as much as I like him is most likely stopgap help as his salary could be used in a big trade either mid season or next season.  Plus Kanter is only on a minimum 1 year deal.

Seems worth mentioning that Bruno shares representation (Priority Sports) with Brad Beal. Wherever he winds up over the next two months, I fully expect Boston to play nice for that reason alone.

I think that’s a bit of a stretch.  Teams generally try to maintain good relationships with agents and have good reputations around the league.  But Fernando was simply salary fodder in the trade, and everyone knows that.  He’ll either be salary fodder again, or if he makes it to training camp, will get a chance to make the team.  They’re not going to treat him poorly because there’s no reason to do that with anyone in a professional setting.  It makes no difference who his agent also represents.

I see a potential PF more than a C but in any event, Horford, Kanter, Parker, and GWilliams are all likely gone next season.  We are going to need some bigs.  What is wrong with trying develop this guy for a season to see what we might have?  Right now, I see him taking the 3rd PF slot or 6th big if you prefer.  Last year we ended up with Kornet and Ojeleye.  Poirier before that.  Yabusele before that.  Fernando may have more upside than any of these.  it is just what you end up with for that slot.

I am in no rush to just dump this guy.  Doesn't gain you much to do that.  Edwards, we have seen enough, we know what he is.  Dunn is our 4th PG now at $5M.  I think there are better options if the goal is to cull salary.

How does Bruno play PF?

What skills does he have? Can he shoot? How well can he shoot? How much distance and how effective? Can he dribble the ball? Can he pass the ball? Does he have the skill to be a forward? What does he do to help the team?

The PF position nowadays is highly skilled and from what I have seen Bruno is low skilled center nevermind skilled enough to play PF.

Just want to add that Bruno is 22, not 21, and turns 23 on Sunday.  So this is a weird thread title.

Do Parker or GWilliams play PF?  How about Horford or RWilliams?  How about Tatum?  My point is I don't think this matters.  If you are going to have a young player on the end of the bench, why not have it be an athletic big on a min contract, even if you aren't sure if he is a PF or C?  He shot 30% from 3 in college but are you really worried that your 3rd string PF can't shoot 3s?  In college he shot 60% overall and about 50% in two seasons in ATL, probably mostly dunks and put backs.  If he can defend reliably and not turn the ball over, I am fine with that for a 3rd string PF.  None of our current or recent bigs are "highly skilled", how can you expect the 3rd string PF on a min contract to be highly skilled?  I am fine using this slot on a player like Bruno.

Perhaps Ime is going to do something different, but we don't have a real power forward on our roster. Perhaps Horford, but he's long in the tooth to be matching athletically against some of the leagues current PFs. Parker, yes, but he's not someone you can plan on being there.

We run an offense with one guard, 3 wings, one big. Looking at the way our roster is constructed, that isn't likely to change. We have 10 wings/guards. Putting 2 of our bigs on the floor at the same time is doing a favor for our opponent almost every time we do it.

Bruno looks like a really nice athlete with good size, but he's very raw. He's someone we'd need to develop, and I doubt Brad is in the development business with a big right now.
