All three will up for new contracts after next season.  There has to be some concerns regarding...

1. Who starts. Who is adamant that they should start. Reports are Schroder doesnt see himself coming off the bench.  Could see Smart and JRich also voicing their preference

2.  Concept of the team play. Or self fulfillment stat hunting?

3. Which could lead to some locker room tension. Perhaps even spilling to Tatum/Brown who we all know will want to take their 20FGAs plus per game

Has Brad overplayed his hands?

I think they're going to trade one of them.

Smart $17M/yr is a possibility.

You're right on the contracts, if they didn't extend Smart, with Dunn added to the list that is 4 guards on one year deals.

There is a plan, I just wonder what it is.

BTW, is there and NBA team that needs a guard or two? We got inventory.

My bigger concern is none of these guys can shoot. Team is going to have some serious spacing issues.

Also, off-season is not over. There’s a good chance some of these guys aren’t even here to start training camp.

The patriots have been successful with intense competition at certain spots. They have regularly signed multiple players in free agency and just let them go if someone already on the roster steps up.
If a player thinks padding his stats at the expense of winning, we want them to go away and we want the coach to notice it and bench the player. For instance, if Smart wants to start as point guard, he has to prove he can run an offense and make everyone else better and create shots for players who shoot at a higher percentage than he does instead of taking too many hard 3 pointers. And all three of these guys have to prove they are better than Pritchard who seems to pass as well as any of them and shoots 3's better than any of them.

I'm concerned how this log jam impacts Pritchards development to be honest. He has rapidly moved to the end of our bench in rotation with the Schroder signing.

I feel like another trade is imminent.

Can't J Rich and Smart slide up and cover 3s? It's better to have more players than not enough like last year. J Rich and Schroder came here because they wanted to. Both were freeagents. All those guys need to show that they can play team ball more than show off their stats. Winning will mean money for everyone at the end of the season either from The Celtics or another team.

Pritchard's shooting is probably more important now than if we signed two sharp shooters.

But he opted in to be traded here.

It can work or backfire

Reminder 2018 Celts team drama

Between Brown and Tatum aspirations to continue to be selected to the all star game/all nba teams to these three up for new contracts

Does PP, Nesmith, Langford developments take a backseat?

Udoka and coaching staff need to...

Smart may start as  I figure,  I would prefer to have Nesmith at SG and Brown at SF to play Tatum at PF. Rob at C.

JRich and Shroder could wreck havoc off the bench.

I am for letting them play it out and let this decide, NO ONE should be preordained.

Pritchard and Nesmith can shoot. I hope we can trade off some of these new "Vets". Schroeder might be a keeper but Richardson and Dunn are not. Our kids have to be prioritized.

I think the general rotation will be something like this as the roster is currently constructed

PG - Schroder 30, Smart 8, Pritchard 10
SG - Smart 22, Richardson 26
SF - Brown 34, Nesmith 14
PF - Tatum 35, Parker/G. Williams 13
C - Horford 24, Williams 24

Guys that will regularly play some depending on matchup - Dunn, Langford, Kanter
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs -
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards -

It will be interesting...

Brad traded for JRich only a few weeks ago.  For another player (Brown) he traded for a month ago

Brad will develop a bad rep if he keeps flipping these players like its nothing.  Probably have to wait until trade deadline at least.....unless Beal announces he wants out asap
