They probably need it a lot more than the star players do.  It makes sense to me to have a non-star in this kind of role.

It makes sense. Clearly one of the more educated and intelligent players in the league. Bad players need guys looking out for them more than stars do
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Last year the VP was Kyrie Irving, I can only guess the job he did...

Celticsblog is completely awful, one of the more intelligent players to be chosen to represent and you guys are dumping on him. Pitino is right, this fanbase is thrash. Congratulations Grant Williams, you've earned that spot regardless of what this blog thinks of you.

Did Jaylen turn over his position to Grant?

I think there are multiple VP positions?

Yeah, I know that but was under the impression, possibly incorrectly, there was only one player rep per team and you had to be a player rep for your team to be eligible to be voted a VP.

Impressive. 22 years old and representing his mostly older peers.  And if it matters I also haven’t given up basketball-wise on a smart, hard working 22 year old who has had some moments on the court v. the best in the world.

Grant is an impressive guy.  However he's also a crappy NBA player who gets more minutes than he deserves because of a lack of talent on the roster.

I'm certain his post-NBA career will outshine his playing one.

Okay? No need to say he's bad then, just congratulate him and move on. How hard is that to do?

Kyrie was not "the" VP last year, he was "a" VP.

Along with Jaylen, Biyombo, Brogdon, McCollum, and Garret Temple, and below "First VP" Iggy and Secretary-Treasurer Harrison Barnes. Iggy is the real VP, but they just give everyone the title VP because reasons.
I'm bitter.
