Marcus Garrett, my draft binkie this year, looks like an NBA player. Too bad Miami will probably give him a two way contract.

Yeah, I’m not thrilled with some of the names on the C’s summer league roster. Feel like there werebetter prospects out there, Garett being one of them.

Why would Garrett possibly want to come to a Celtics summer league team with Pritchard and Yam already on it?  His goal is to earn an NBA or 2-way deal somewhere, and that wasn’t going to come with the opportunity the Celtics could give him.

Well, Pritchard and Yam are PG’s and Garett is a 6’5” combo guard. Yam is most likely going to be overseas this coming season. C’s only have 1 two way player, so they can add another. Edwards should be cut as well. There’s definitely opportunity on the C’s.

And Romeo Langford is a 6’5” combo guard.  The Celtics have three players from their NBA roster plus one draftee that play Garrett’s positions.  The Heat have only one.  It would’ve a bad fit for both player and team to have him in summer league.  Also, it’s summer league.  There is no commitment to either side beyond that.

Romeo is 6’4” and is not a combo guard. He’s a wing. C’s should just be trying to add talent for their end of bench/two way player, regardless of position.

The Celtics view Langford as a combo guard and are playing him as such this summer, despite your opinion.

Also, Garrett’s college height is 6’5” — we have no official NBA height since he didn’t go to the combine.  Langford’s college height was 6’6”.

That's fair enough, but he would never have come here given he's trying to prove he belongs. To do that he needs the biggest opportunity

Jalen Johnson, who I wanted us to pick at 16 if Franz and Giddey weren't there (both ended up in the top 8), continues to look the goods.

Probably not, but Miami have one young combo guard (Herro) and little else. We have PP, Romeo, Yam and Bugarinn

Yam and Bugarinn might not play this year and PP is a point. PP can be a shooting guard on offense but not on defense. Romeo is a good defender at the same spot as Garrett but Garrett would be on a two way contract and only play in case of injury, etc.

I’ve never seen Romeo run the point.
He was initiating some offence in the first SL game if I recall correctly
