I am delighted to see Kemba land in a winning situation in his hometown. Instead of mentoring on a lottery team, he's leading a playoff team with one of the best defenses and one of the best defensive coaches. The 2021-22 Knicks might be a misfit for him. Last season, they overachieved in a condensed schedule getting to the 5th seed, enjoying a stifling defense, great health, and depth last season. The fans, media, and franchise have elevated expectations.

I don't like Kemba and Fournier as #1-3 scoring options, playing Thibodeau starter minutes, giving Thibodeau defensive effort in his coverages, and playing in his ISO offense. Barrett has to emerge as the #1-2 option to elevate this team's ceiling and demote Kemba and Fournier to lesser roles.

In a potential Celtics-Knicks playoff series, we have the 1 or 2 best players, the personnel to match or exceed them defensively, and, with the change in coaching, I think the team will be creating and taking advantage of more mismatches than ever before.

What’s your point? He’s not from Boston. Why should he care about the Red Sox?

Its not about the Redsox

its about repping a city

you just don't do that

I don't get why this needs to be explained

Many Celtic fans are also Redsox fans

Many Celtic fans are Bruins fans.

Can't be cheering for the Yankees or St Louis Blues openly like that

Kemba's probably the team's 4th option behind Randle/Fournier/Barrett, and even then they still have D-Rose and Alec Burks coming off the bench to alleviate the scoring burden. I think ideally for them, Barrett will solidify himself as the clear #2, but Fournier is capable of being #2 in the short term. He was an efficient 19.5 per game scorer in Orlando in a secondary scorer's role next to Vucevic, there's no reason he can't do it in NY if needed.

I don't root for the Redsox and I don't care about hockey on any level.

He was born and raised in NY, he's not going to forget who he is and where he comes from to rep a city he has no loyalty to other than working there. That's silly and childish.

The Bronx is above Harlem. It's the same area.

Evan will be happy. He and Kemba had good chemistry together.  Knicks will be fun to watch. I get all their games living in NY.

I was born in MA. So if I move to California to work, I’m not allowed to wear hats of the teams I support anymore?

G: Kemba, D-Rose
G: RJ Barrett, Quickley
F: Fournier, A.Burks
F: Randle, Toppin
C: Mitchell Robinson, Noel

Gotta say, that is a much improved team over last year with the additions of Kemba and Fournier to a team that was offensively challenged last year and relied on out-working out-hustling tired opponents during a hectic schedule (that was unlikely to repeat, work as well, this season).

Some good young talent with RJ Barrett, Quickley and Toppin who could show improvement also. Further enhancing the Knicks chances next season.
Wow that’s a good looking team..top 5 in East no doubt..we be lucky make playoffs
Disagree.  That team is pretty clearly behind Milwaukee, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and Miami and I believe is clearly worse than Atlanta and Boston.  I wouldn't be surprised if Indiana,, Toronto, and Charlotte were all better as well.  They are deep so they may have a decent regular season record, but that team is far more likely to miss the playoffs than win a playoff series imo.   Their best player, Randle, May not even be a top 30 player in the sport.  That just doesn't cut it

I love that description.

Yeah, this is silly.  I have friends who are Yankees fans.  If you are in the home turf of a team but you are a legitimate fan of the rival, there is a way to be a fan of the rival but not be obnoxious.  Even some Yankees fans understand this  ;)
